Description
Great Cleave is the largest of three 4 star cottages at East Underdown. The cottage was once part of a threshing barn which dates from the 17th century. This modern barn conversion of upside down design retains many of its original roof beams and trusses in the high ceilings of the sitting room (15ft to the apex). This creates on one side a double bedroom and the other a gallery which is popular with children. The gallery also has a futon which can be an additional bed.
There are 4 double bedrooms, (3 on the ground floor) 3 bathrooms (one is an ensuite shower room), dining/living area which can accommodate up to 16 diners (the capacity of all 3 cottages), gallery seating area, Freeview, DVD, VCR, fully equipped kitchen including range master double oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, woodburning stove (wood provided).

Smoking is not allowed in bedrooms. We ask smokers to be considerate of others.
Guests must be sufficiently mobile to climb the stairs from the bedroom area to the living area with the use of handrails.
Baby-sitting is available.

“Wonderful half term break”
We had a lovely time on our break Due to COVID the swimming pool was limited to 3 hours a day for each house which meant we had it to ourselves and the kids had a wonderful time in the pool everyday The play barn was great fun and we particularly loved the air hockey The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds and sofas were wonderfully comfortable The house was perfectly clean when we arrived and they even left an umbrella at the door when it was throwing it down on the day we were packing the car to leave. Thanks Bob and Sue we had a fantastic break

“Lovely comfortable house”
This was a lovely spacious upside down house with the best equipped kitchen I have ever found in a holiday rental..... apart from no cafetière so remember to bring your own...a very efficient log burner for the winter and you really must eat in the Old Inn in Drewsteignton. It was a lovely place to stay in the midst of some lovely walking.
