La Tavellerie is a beautiful and comfortable old stone farmhouse set in extensive grounds. Its perfect for extended family holidays or groups of friends.

The house is pretty, light, comfortable and spacious. It is simply decorated with some antique furniture, and has the feel of a relaxed family home. The kitchen is huge with a long table specially made for it in the traditional style of the area. The kitchen has worktops made from a walnut tree from our property, a 5 burner gas hob and a large multi-function oven. The living room has two sofas, chairs, and a superb open fire which is lovely in the colder months of the year. It has double doors which open onto the large terrace. All bedrooms are large and comfortable. There is one double bedroom downstairs, with an en-suite bathroom, and the others are upstairs. The house has 2 staircases which makes it great fun to play games in!

If you like having plenty of outside space and natural beauty this is the house for you. There are gardens around the house, meadows, and even a small wood - 7 acres in all. There's lots of garden furniture - a table and chairs on the terrace and another under the trees for the heat of the day. There are sun loungers at the pool and hammocks hanging under the beech trees. And a swing seat at the top of the hill to sit in the shade and admire the view. A swing for the children hangs from a lime tree. Children love playing in the little forest. There is ample room in the gravelled courtyard for cars to park and turn. We have converted one of the barns into a large 'games room' which leads on to a new terrace overlooking the meadows and gardens.

“Paradise”
La Tavellerie is simply paradise. The house has real French rustic charm with ample space, everything you'd need for a home from home and very child friendly. The grounds are simply spectacular and the photos just don't do it justice. The flower gardens burst with colour and wildlife, you can hear so many different types of birds calling, frogs, crickets etc, it's wonderful! Our 2 girls (6 and 7) loved the swings, hammocks and play barn which again is fully equipped to keep the children amused. The pool has been carefully placed to ensure it's a tranquil haven for swimming, relaxing and sunbathing and it was really nice that it was salt water instead of chemicals. The owner and caretakers in France were all so helpful and friendly. We had the most amazing time and have already recommended to several friends! If you want a holiday to relax in peaceful settings, away from the hustle and bustle of life then this is where you need to go!

“La Tavellerie”
Fabulous rustic farmhouse with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. We spent two very enjoyable weeks at this house. The grounds provide many lovely spaces for children to play and for adults to relax. The pool was a highlight for everyone. Very peaceful place. We all loved our stay and would love to return.

“Absolute bliss”
We stayed in La Tavellerie for two weeks. The whole experience, from booking to departing, was first class. We fell in love with the place as soon as we arrived, and fell in love again every day. There were only two of us in a five bedroom house, so we only used one bedroom, within which the bed was extremely comfortable. All bathrooms were very clean and looked recently renovated. The kitchen was very well equipped and we bought very little other than daily produce. The seating areas outside in the garden were wonderful and we made good use of these to enjoy the well thought out and beautiful gardens. The pool was great, and was essential during our stay just to keep cool :) There was lots of activities for young children and we could see that it would be an ideal location for a family holiday. There is lots to see and do in the surrounding area if you can drag yourself away from the house and gardens. Shopping is a stress free chore, with Hyper U in Chantonnay selling anything you could want or need. Another of the outstanding experiences was the friendliness and helpfulness of the owner. Clarissa made sure we were welcomed and was on hand for any queries that we had, always returning e-mails promptly.
