Description from owner

Description

House with character in Pesariis, a beautiful hamlet in Friuli, with 8 beds in two double rooms and one quadruple.
Pesariis is among the most beautiful villages in Friuli, suitable both for those who want to rest in a real mountain atmosphere and for those who want to practice mountaineering, skiing, climbing and cross country skiing.

WALKING, MOUNTANEERING AND CUSINE
In the village an interesting urban trail within stone houses will lead to see the 12 monumental clocks, Bruseschi House (a small Museum of Carnica House).
Just beside our house the Agriturismo Sotlanapa serves local dishes at good prices!
Two short walks from the village along the river lead to Osais or to a small waterfall in the middle of the wood. Longer (up to a few days) is the 'Via delle Malghe' where herders sell the typical cheese.
From Pian di Casa (9 km) several moutain tracks start, one is particoularly famous as it leads to the that reach the refuge De Gasperi which leaves for a protected climbing route, the "via ferrata dei 50".
At 19 miles in alta Val Pesarina, already in the Veneto region, you'll find "Casera Razzo" (Alm Razzo) located within a magnificent dolomitic plateau; from the Alm, where you can buy cheese, several traks to the sourrouding moutains.

SKI
15 km away you'll find Ravascletto and the Zoncolan the biggest skiing resort of the Region: 11 lifts, 18 slopes and a free style snow park.
19 km away the very small ski resort of Casera Razzo
The whole area of Alta Val Pesarina is interesting for off-piste skiing.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
At Pian di Casa (6 rings, 31 km); to 30 km (40 min) is the famous Sappada area where they coached the greatest champions Maurilio De Zolt, Italian Silvio Fauner and Pietro Piller Cottrer and in 2001 he hosted the Italian championships of cross-country skiing.

NEARBY VALLEYS
We recommend a visit to the Museum of Carnia in Tolmezzo
A short but steep track from the village of Illegio leads to the Church of San Floriano (IX c.) where you can admire a wonderful view to the surrounding mountains and valleys
Sauris and its famous ham
Arta and its spas
Drink the water from the Piave springs
Climb the via ferrata of Peralba or reach the small but beautiful Lake Volaia, half of which is in Austria
In summer the Zoncolan (15 km) hosts one of the most difficult stages the Tour of Italy (bicicle)
