Description from owner

Description

A charming, cosy, traditional farmer's cottage set in the quiet rural surroundings of North Antrim farmland. A wealth of oldie-worldy furnishings including exposed beams, feature fireplace and woodburner. The cottage offers comfortable accommodation for families or friends wishing to explore the Causeway Coast.First opened in March 2014 following an extensive renovation and conversion the Bothy recently featured in an article in 'Farm Week' which describes it as "a cottage of unusual appeal …. Fabrics and wall colours of pale pastel greens, subtle, soft light shades which merge with the atmospheric dimensions of this incredible building, don't overpower the senses yet leave one with the comfortable feeling of being immersed in a homely cottage ….. Each room is a journey into the dream world of relaxed charm and restfulness."The Bothy dates back to the 1700s but has recently been fully modernised whilst retaining all its original charm. The thick walls, modern insulation and central heating ensure that it is beautifully warm throughout the year whilst the fully equipped kitchen has an energy efficient oven/hob and appliances that are all A-rated or higher. Graded 4 star **** by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board the accommodation is all on the ground floor. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with twin beds (or super king size). A bathroom with loo, bath and a sensational thermostatically controlled deluge shower! A living and dining room with a prominent chimney breast and heavy wooden shelf, beamed ceiling, wicker basket and stove. A long hall and fitted kitchen with pleasing design, colour schemes and all 'mod cons'.Oil central heating with woodburner in lounge. Electric oven & hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, Fast WIFI, Smart TV, Netflix, radio/CD, iPod docking station, games, cot & highchair, hairdryer, fresh flowers and welcome pack of locally produced bread, preserves, fresh eggs, milk and butter. Bed linen, hand and bath towels are included along with all environmentally friendly bathroom and kitchen toiletries. A starter pack for our eco friendly wood burning stove is included together with oil fired central heating and electricity. Dogs and smoking are not allowed as we pride ourselves on keeping a healthy clean environment for people who may be sensitive to air pollution and allergies. There is a lawned garden and woodland. Patio with furniture and BBQ. There is ample lockable storage for bikes, golf clubs and surf boards.
