Description
The beautiful Villa is situated on private grounds measuring about 2000m², at the edge of the little village Makriotika: a peaceful and low-key traditional village with gentle tourism and authentic Greek atmosphere. The location offers fantastic views across the green valley of Pylaros, the glistening Ionian Sea, the surrounding mountains, the little villages and hamlets. Here is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the authentic Greek life, far away from mass tourism.
In a just 10 min drive you will reach the picturesque harbour of Agia Efimia with good amenities (cafés, restaurants, shops, boat-hire), the spectacular Myrtos beach and several idyllic white pebble coves with crystal clear waters ideal for swimming and snorkelling. The local tavern "Maklithari" is loved by insiders for its good Kefalonian food and the friendly service of the owners and is within 5 min walking distance from the Villa.
Villa Vounaki is built and furnished to a very high standard. The living space of some 110 m² is arranged over two floors and provides superior standards of comfort. The tastefully decoration combines traditional style with the latest modern amenities. The perfect equipment will make you feel home away from home. A free wi-fi internet is of course in the Villa provided.
The private pool (width 4 x 7 m / depths 0.50 – 1.50 m) and the pool terrace are set on the south-western side. This location offers plenty of sun during the whole day. 4 steps take you from the pool terrace to a comfortable seating area shaded by a pergola with marvelous panoramic views of the mountains of Pylaros. Here you can relax and enjoy the privacy you look for during your holidays in Kefalonia.
Two further terraces, one on the east and one on the west side provide further sitting facilities with both sun and shade. They are equipped with comfortable wooden furniture, sun umbrellas and a mobile gas grill.
The secluded terraces and the pool offer a high level of privacy and are set within beautifully landscaped Mediterranean gardens with colourful geraniums, roses, oleanders and local sweet herbs.

“Perfect family villa to explore Kefalonia”
We are a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children aged 11y, 9y and 7y). This villa was perfect for our needs. It is well-equipped and well stocked with plenty of shaded seating areas for everyone, two barbecues and a pool by the kitchen which the kids loved. It was spotlessly clean and twice weekly cleaning really helped. Air-conditioning in the bedrooms really helped with those very hot nights, together with shutters and fly screens on the windows. It is ideally placed to visit the beaches of Myrtos, the port of Agia Efimia and Sami and it's not too far to Assos, Fiskardo and all the other beautiful little coves and beaches in that area. We had a thoroughly good holiday and wouldn't hesitate to either stay here again if we visited Kefalonia in the future or recommend it to anyone else wishing to visit Kefalonia.

“When Greek views and hospitality meet German construction and efficiency”
I have stayed in Villa Vounaki three separate summers, each time with my spouse and two kids who were 8 the first time and teenagers the last. Our going back summer after summer speaks for itself... The villa is exactly as advertised in the brochure and website. It is an excellent place for those who seek a rather quiet, authentic setting and appreciate the beauty of the Greek island landscape. It provides all amenities an upper-middle class family would want, including air-conditioning, fully equipped kitchen (incl. dishwasher) and laundry facilities. We found everything to be working well and whenever there was a minor issue, the hosts (Lida and Peter) took care of it immediately. The setting is unique - atop a hill overlooking the Ionian sea. What the villa does not offer is the frills associated with a high-end resort. But if you want good value, a beautiful place to stay close to the beaches and sights of the island, and polite, helpful hosts who understand your needs and will help you plan your stay, this is a phenomenal find.
