“Retreat from the hustle and bustle and chill”

Reviewed 10 Jul 2016

Well equipped, delightful owners in a tranquil setting The cottage is a wonderful step back in time sympathetically furnished and decorated in keeping with its period but lacks nothing., loved the beams and pictures on the walls.. Great for relaxing and birdwatching, Tom even came and loaned us his fantastic binoculars and bird book. Hot tub was wonderful, fill the bath if it's a bit chilly when you get out. Many thanks to Christina and Tom for their hospitality.

Response from the owner Wow, in 5 years we have never had a response like that! As detailed in the property description, The Croft is a 200 year old, restored workers cottage. Yes, the windows are small. Yes, the roof is pitched. Yes, there are stairs. It is a shame you had not read the description or viewed the many photos on our web site. I hope anyone taking the time to read this will also look at all of our other reviews to make an informed and balanced assessment. Good luck with your next holiday!

“Just the lovely cows for company”

Reviewed 1 Jan 2012

Very nice welcome from the Pedreschis who live next door to the pretty cottage, which is totally quiet and very restful. The garden is gorgeous and it was lovely to eat out in, although it would be nice to have more garden furniture to relax on (only one sun bed - no cushions). Bedroom very comfortable - shower cubicle in en suite VERY small - but owners say they will be addressing that. Despite being advertised, there was no internet connection which was very frustrating.

Response from the owner Hello Elizabeth and thank you for your review. In regard to the internet, we DO have internet but unfortunately the day before you arrived the area had an electical storm which downed all internet connection in our village, including ours. Being a rural area, repairs take longer than a large city and we were unable to hurry the process despite having an IT person come and check to make sure it was not a problem with just our internet. Not being able to provide internet to our guests is very disappointing for us as well but beyond our control when the whole area is disconnected.

Tom and Christina were extremely welcoming and at hand to give advice about things to do in the area. The canoing centre nearby is great and we had a lot of fun both on and in the water! We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking to get away from it all!
