La Grange holiday cottage is a fully restored 200 year old thatched Breton cottage surrounded by colourful flower beds and borders. With wonderful views it is very spacious, full of massive oak beams, exposed stone and even an antique Breton bed.

A magnificent setting beside the River Blavet with glorious views of the entire valley. Private heated swimming pool with discreet fence & security alarm to ensure child safety, set in 3 acres of gardens. Several superb sandy beaches within 20-30 minutes' drive. Free WiFi is available for guests.

La Garenne consists of 4 charming and romantic 200 year old thatched holiday cottages in an exceptional location beside the beautiful River Blavet, Morbihan, Southern Brittany.

Bursting with charm and character the holiday gites have flowers adorning their exteriors and breathtaking views across the entire valley with its meandering river.

“Relaxation”

A most beautiful location offering a step back in time, a release from television, Internet and mobile phone! Our family group ranged between grandparent and grandchildren, all had a wonderful and exciting time. Due to an unforeseeable delay in our return home the owner and caretaker went out of their way to ensure we could extend our stay with very little upheaval. I would recommend this venue every time.

Response from the manager Thank you for your feedback, we are delighted you enjoyed the beautiful location with the whole river valley to ourselves. The nearby restaurant is a traditional French one that caters for a thriving lunchtime trade 7 days a week. It is open some evenings but it is always best to check before going along there. Our local towns of Languidic and Hennebont - just a few minutes drive away have quite a few lovely restaurants that are open in the evenings. The thick stone walls of our historic cottages do inhibit the phone signal so it is best to go outside into the garden to make calls, send texts and emails or to browse the internet. We do have a land-line phone at La Garenne for emergencies and are trying to get wi fi internet installed so 'watch this space' or check with us for the latest news on this. In the meantime, yes the local McDonalds is great for wi fi and has a fabulous play area for children, there is also a great cafe with free wif fi next to the beautiful Gothic church in Hennebont that serves lovely coffee and a fine range of beers. It has inside and outside seating and is also a great place to watch the world go by.

We were 3 generations aged between 86 and 21 and all of us have only good things to say about La Garenne. It was like staying in a rural 5 star facility with everything you could ever need. The welcome pack on our arrival was outstanding. Facilities were great, very private and the pool not overcrowded with great views and cycling. A very relaxing holiday which we would do again but is not for those who want the bright lights, TV or internet connections!

beautiful setting,warm welcome, plenty of space and equipment supplied for road weary extended family of seven, including 18 month twins. Cots,stairgates etc all provided. Plenty of local information, beaches, markets etc. Nothing was too much trouble for Jeannine who looks after the site. best- river views, towpath, peace and quiet worst-not able to stay longer (returning to la garrenne in september)
