Description from owner

Description

La Huttiere is a large converted barn in a very rural part of France, and is situated in approx 18 acres of countryside. There is ample parking and all facilities here are inclusive of the price, there are no ' hidden extra charges ' and you do not need to bring anything with you, as the Gite offers all that you may need for a relaxing

stress free holiday.

On arrival we offer you a complimentary 'welcome pack' - some goodies which are a helpful start to your holiday.

If you require shopping to be here on your arrival, just send us your list and we will get this in for you.

La Huttiere is very central for surrounding main towns, all steeped with history, which are only a short drive for sightseeing and/or shopping, and of course this is wine country ! so an abundance of good local wines to be purchased either direct from the vineyards (taste before you buy ) or the supermarkets - all at a very good price !

Further details

We like to keep the changeover days to each Saturday which makes it easier for all

No smoking in the Gite please, but no problem outside.

The times of arrival and departure are : Arrive from 3.00 pm onwards, and depart by 10.00 am ( ish ! )

This allows the Gite to be fully serviced and ready for your arrival.

Further details indoors

A converted barn, all rooms in the Gite are very spacious.
The bedroom configuration is a double and single bed in each of the bedrooms which are both en-suite.
the Kitchen/ dining area gives more than ample space and there are all the facilities for your requirements.
The kitchen leads out to your private patio area at the back , ideal for dining al -fresco or having a barbecue. or just lounge about and soak up the sun The sitting room area gives an ideal area to read or watch TV. there is satellite reception giving a number of UK channels. The sitting room is spacious and well furnished, and very comfortable.
The fact that we have many guests who return to us each year, and some twice a year is recomendation alone and pride for us here at La Huttiere

Further details outdoors

Outside the Gite where you have your own private patio and garden area, is great to sit out on the lovely summer evenings and watch the magnificent sun sets, over acres of un-spoilt country side. Quite often you can spot the many types of wild deer, and wild boar, cross from one field to another,. and of course there are the many types of birds, some which are not resident in the UK so quite exciting to see them here.. Also in the evenings you can hear the different types of owl calling to each other. and in the mornings woodpeckers are abundant
There are many birds of prey of all sizes to be seen. We do not have grey squirrels so the red squirrel is always busy in the wooded area.We have approx 18 acres of land and a wooded area , which makes a nice walk.
There is a table tennis table for the energetic, and a very large plunge pool ( 27000 litres ! ) to cool down when needed ! We also have cycles which you are most welcome to use
Although we are very rural , it is only a few minutes drive to the Chateau and market town of Le Lude and you do not have to worry about parking, as there is a very large area to park your car in front of the Gite.

“Location, Location, Location! Tranquil, Scenic, Welcoming Gite”

Reviewed 3 Sep 2012

As we headed up the drive, our eldest daughter said "1-0 to dad"! A great choice, very rural, less than 20minutes to nearest town of Le Lude and around 25mins to La Fleche, taking the rural route through Chigne past the Zoo. On arrival we found a very welcome 'welcome basket' of goods. The Gite, its ammenities and the welcome were excellent. Advice on local areas & hand drawn maps were always available as required. Skylights, sleeping with the stars, the pool...all kept the family entertained. We have 2 girls, 8 & 15 and we all greatly enjoyed the stay and the extremely relaxing location. La Fleche is a great town to visit. The weekly market was the best of those we visited covering several streets. The river Loire is picturesque, with many fisherman on the banks with shoals of Roach, Carp and other fish. Within this town, there is a large lake with a superb beach, play area and pedallo's. This is Les lacs de la Monnerie. Again this has a fishing lake alongside for anglers. The water was very clear, the man made beach was equally clean. The weather during our stay was exquisite, with not a cloud seen for several days. Wildlife around the Gite included Deer, Lizards, Woodpeckers. Of the two weeks we spent in France, this week was the highlight and will definetly feature in discussions for future years. From our initial contact regards a booking, help, advice and directions were superb. The drive from Calais was very simple.
