Description
I have two recent certificates of excellence.
The house is an attractive chalet-style style and has a home-from-feeling it will be opened (or closed when you leave), heated if necssary, and cleaned before your arrival. It sleeps 6 adults comfortably, plus two children. There is a bathroom on each floor; both have a shower and one with a small bath. The upstairs bathroom has been refurbished this winter with a new washing machine and tumble drier.
The kitchen isn't large but is well-equipped and is next to the lounge/diner.The lounge/diner has a wood-burning stove and opens onto a south facing patio. There is a dining table which seats 6 comfortably and an extra table and chairs for seating two extra people. Comfortable seating in lounge area for 6 adults. Garden furniture is stored in the garage, together with a charcoal barbecue. There is a TV with some English-speaking programmes, and plenty of games and books.
On the first floor, there is 1 large king-size bedroom, 1 bunk bedroom with a sofa, computer games and DVD player. Please note, the bathroom is in between this bedroom and the landing. The bathroom is large and has a shower, washbasin, toilet,washing machine and dryer with plenty of drying space. The people who use these upstairs bedrooms share the bathroom. On the ground floor, there is a large twin-bedded room, a small bunk bed room with a baby-changing unit and the bathroom has a small bath, shower, washbasin and toilet.
TOWELS AND SHEETS ARE NOT PROVIDED BUT CAN BE HIRED AT A REASONABLE COST. WE FIND THAT CUSTOMERS LIKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE THEIR OWN AND TO PAY LESS RENT.
You will find the travel cots, stair gates, high chair etc. in the cupboard on the landing.
There is also a restaurant within walking distance (10 mins), - Chez Phlippe - on the main road in Cucq going towards Berck, as well as many others in Le Touquet, Etaples and in the countryside. There are plenty of activities in the area for children and also for adults, particularly the excellent golf courses within easy reach and the WW1 sites. There are also plenty of things to do if the weather is inclement.
The garden is small but has a south-facing patio and a sunny corner at the back of the garden with a table and chairs for you to have a drink or meal.
Further garden furniture is stored in the garage, together with a large charcoal barbecue.
If you need a bit more garden space for playing games or football, less than 5 minutes from the house there is a field in the village which is for everyone's use. I don't provide a ball because I don't wish the neigbours to be disturbed, so bring please your own if you want one.
In the other direction, there are some lovely woods to walk in if you feel like a stroll.
