Description

La Julerie offers ideal family accommodation when holidaying; it is near St Malo ferry port & also historic towns of Dinan & Dinard. La Vieille Ferme has 3 bedrooms and an open groundfloor with a fully equipped kitchen with modern electrical equipment. 3 bedrooms, 1 double, 1 twin & other with bunk beds, 2 bathrooms & toilets on 1st floor, washroom on groundfloor. There is enough space for up to 24 people to sit & dine together in this gite which makes it very popular with groups holidaying together.

Families with infants will find all of the equipment they nortmally have to take with them on holiday at La Julerie; besides cots, high chairs, stair gates we can also provide-free of charge- baby changing table with bath and mat, bottle steriliser, listening device, play mats, swing chairs etc

Besides the swimming pool & games room, we have children's swings, slide, sand pit and plenty of space to play. Being located away from main roads it is very quiet, at night time you are more likely to hear owls than cars.

The coast is less than 20 minutes away and there are many safe sandy beaches, some have sailing or surfing schools. The little offshore island of Les Ebihans is a pleasant walk across the sands at St Jacut at low tide; the children love it!

Our booking terms request a 25% non-refundable deposit be paid on confirmation of a booking with the balance being paid 10 weeks prior to arrival. Details of our UK and French bank account are quoted on the booking agreement and we request that payments be made by bank transfer into which ever account is more convenient. Although prices are quoted in Euros, Payment can be made in sterling; I receive the commercial exchange rates daily from CaxtonFX and use these to convert.

we offer a similar discount when only 2 guests stay in the smallest gite Les Etables aux Hirondelles.

Les Ecuries has been deisgned to welcome wheelchair guests, although there is no bedroom on the groundfloor, a single bed is placed behind a screen to the rear of the salon area when required by any guest who cannot manage the stairs.

Whilst most guests first think of the joy of the indoor/outdoor (the covers can be retracted) heated pool, when they book to stay at La Julerie they soon realise how much pleasure they can get from using the large games room where there is a table tennis table, 2 showers/changing rooms and a toilet, a seating area and a selection of toys for the younger children, besides book, games and jigsaws for all. We have now hosted several wedding receptions and anniversary and birthday parties (up to 40 guests). The games room is freely available for these parties when guests book all 4 gites. We can also put you in contact with outside caterers who have experience at catering for parties at La Julerie.

The pool is over 9 metres long, and for security reasons it can only be accessed via the games room. It has a level bottom at a depth of 1.65 m which makes it ideal for parents with young children as they can stand anywhere in the pool and look after their children. The other 3 sides of the pool are surrounded by a walled patio which is a suntrap and a good place to lie out on the sun loungers

Whilst each gite has its own patio with wooden furniture and Weber or drum barbeque, and some lawned area, the gardens open up to the larger lawned area which is shared with all guests. We have planted numerous shrubs and every year we aim to have a good display of colour in the flower beds and in the balcony troughs.

There is a super play station with house, swings, slides etc and also a sandpit and a playhouse for the younger children .

Bikes are available for hire as are swimming towels. Meals and baby sitting service can be provided
As La Julerie is in such a quiet location, several families will bring their bikes so their children can practise their riding on quiet country roads with very little traffic. There is sufficient parking space for all of the guests cars.

Interaction with guest

Our son and his family live across the yard from the gites, we live in our cottage which is about 4 miles from La Julerie for the summer months and are at La Julerie most days gardeing and pool cleaning . One of the family will always show you around your gite and the pool and games room area when you arrive, unless you arrive late at night when you will find the key in the door and we will meet you and show you around La Julerie on the following morning.

House rules

While our normal arrival and departure times are 4 p.m. and 10 a.m. respectively, as we have no other guests at La julerie at Christmas, you will be welcome to arrive as soon as you wish on the 28th and also stay all the day on January 2. All we ask is that you let me know your expected arrival time so that I can ask our son Tim who lives opposite the cottages to be there to welcome you.
