Frank's Old Bear is a nicely remodeled and fully furnished single story family cabin that sits on a gorgeous treed lot right on the shores of Big Bear Lake. This attractive property offers the most amazing front deck with an amazing view of the lake and surroundings, newer patio furniture, and a piped Propane BBQ for your use during your stay. The warm and cozy living room has a toasty fireplace, leather furnishings, and a large flat screen TV/DVD for your enjoyment. The fully equipped kitchen has the essentials for cooking, appliances, and two separate dining tables for seating during meals. Seasonal shared boat dock is available in the bay for Big Bear Vacations / Shore Acres Lodge guests on a first come, first served basis. The fully fenced and spacious back yard off of the kitchen provides privacy and security, making Frank's the perfect place for your whole family here in the mountains!

Response from the manager David, Thank you for taking the time to write a review on Franks Old Bear. I am so sorry you did not like it! I really love this little cabin...but it is rustic. I guess in some ways you are right, it is a basic cabin on the water with a boat dock....that is why it is such a great price though! It is not rated as a Luxury Home, but rather a "Big Bear Comfort" which would be the equivalent of a 3 star. Defined: BIG BEAR COMFORT An upgrade from Cozy. Big Bear Comfortable properties offer “comfortable” accommodations with updated décor and furnishing and newer amenities in the living areas, bathrooms and kitchen. Properties offer more than one television, DVD and/or VCR player(s), internet. Additional amenities provided may include, but are not required, hot-tub, washer/dryer, game room/pool table. Just to verify ~ all our kitchens only Promise the basics. Basic pots and pans and 1 kitchen towel. The owners do not stock the kitchens for a feast so if you may need a large roasting pan, mixing bowls, and things of that nature....it is a good idea to bring them with. I do apologize the bathtub did not seal, I researched your stay and it doesn't look like you called us. We would have been more than happy to come out and address that concern so everyone could take a bath. Also, because there are no excuses for a dirty home, I am sending you back half of your cleaning fee. I know you said you would not stay with us again, but to be honest we have over 300 vacation homes on our program and I am sure we could find one that you would love. Next time, if you choose to come back, lets choose a Big Bear Select or Luxury home. I am so confident we could earn a better rating from you ~ I would even offer 15% off a future stay. “big bear vacation rental”
it was pretty good but negative things are GPS not proper to the site Bar BQ on the deck not working and no there to help. cabin was not clean and we found garments in side the drawer.

- How do damage deposits work?
In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.
Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If the property manager agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
