Description

Featured in James Bond's movie Casino Royal, Villa Gaeta is one of the iconic villas on Lake Como. The Villa is situated directly on the lake, and has it own beach, boat house, and a private jetty. The apartment is located in a second small building (Gaeta 2) next to the main Villa Gaeta.

The apartment can sleep two adults comfortably, or four adults is they are comfortable sharing the small apartment. All rooms of the apartment face Lake Como directly, and have a magnificent view toward Bellagio.

The ground floor has the main bedroom which has a double bed and a small sitting area, both with large walk-out doors directly to the lake.

The first floor has a large living room with one sofa bed, and another sofa that be used for sleeping. A large flat screen TV with free WiFi Internet connection are available. The living room has two small balconies facing the lake. A second full bathroom with shower is located on the first floor as well. The apartment has a small but fully equipped kitchen. A small washer and dryer is available in the apartment.

Getting around

You will need a car to get around. If is possible to walk to Menaggio from the apartment, on a walking path that passes behind the motorway, so you would not need to be the main roads until you get into town. Our guide can point you the directions and guide of best to get around.

“Nice place for peace and quiet, great views of the lake.”

Apartment is lovely, though a little way out of town. A car may be handy but not essential. Taxi is €12 to town. Views of the lake are fabulous. Although there is a beach area and swimming pool there is no shade and make sure you take your own beach towels as they are not provided in the apartment. The swimming pool is accessed up an extremely steep hill which would test even the fittest person. Kitchen is very well equipped and good shower in the upstairs bathroom. Ensuite bathroom is nice but probably time for an upgrade with a shower. The apartment is cut into the rock face which forms a feature wall in the bedroom so condensation is an issue if the weather is wet. There is formal car parking but it's quite a distance from the entrance to the apartmenterms however you can park closer in a side street. Note there is no air conditioning but the apartment is relatively cool but does get a bit hot at times.
