Away from busy Seven Mile Beach, with a peaceful palm-lined cove directly out the back door and Rum Point Beach steps away from the front door, Starboard Kai has the perfect location for your vacation. Whether you prefer to relax by the pool or on the beach, stroll in the sand or join the activities of Rum Point, we have it all. The home is ideal for 1-2 couples or a small family.

Starboard Kai features a great room with living and dining areas, fully equipped kitchen, powder room and a large two-story screened-in lanai offering additional dining and conversation seating on the main floor.

Two spacious "master" bedrooms, each with very comfortable king beds, ensuite bathrooms, walk-in closets and private balconies with cove views, are located on the second floor. High quality linens, bath and beach towels are provided for your stay.

Starboard Kai has everything you need for a wonderful vacation. A lovely pool for the exclusive use of the guests of the small Island House complex is located on the manicured tropical grounds, a short stroll across the beach from the lanai.

Our two bikes and five kayaks (three single and two double) provide unique ways to explore the area and its many beaches. Tranquil Sand Point Cove, as well as the clear turquoise waters of Rum Point provide amazing snorkeling venues.

During the day take a memorable trip to Stingray Sandbar, which departs directly across the road from Rum Point pier. At night discover the rare bio-luminescence cove (directly from our backyard) in your own kayak, provided for the exclusive use of Starboard Kai guests.

Parking for 2 cars is right out your front door in the private driveway.

A selection of casual and fine dining restaurants are nearby for those times you would rather not make use of the wonderful kitchen and BBQ at Starboard Kai.

Getting around

It is easy to get around Grand Cayman in a rental car. You must drive on the left but the road are modern and for the most part in good condition. Taxis are available but expensive (approx $120 CI) for the trip from airport to Rum Point. A local company, McCurley's will pick you up at the airport and drive you to Rum Point where your rental car will be waiting for you in our driveway. They will even allow a short grocery stop on the way. At the end of your vacation, they will pick you up and take you to the airport, looking after rental car return. If you prefer not to drive, a water taxi can take you from Camana Bay (after a short taxi trip from the airport) to Kaibo. Check Cayman Ferries website for details.

House rules

While our home is great for 2 couples or a family of 4-6 we do ask that no infants or toddlers stay. Children should be at least 4 years of age. This is partly due to the open stairway which is not considered to be safe for very young children. We also have floor to ceiling screens in the lanai. Thanks for your understanding.

Our home is in a quiet residential community and we will not allow parties or events to be hosted in our home.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

If Janice & Mike (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
