Description

The Sandy River Ski house is located in a older, quiet neighborhood in Brightwood/Welches, sitting just at the base of Mount Hood. The property is located on the Sandy River and whether looking for to stroll along the banks or snap great pictures of the outdoors, this property provides it all. You can hear the rushing river from the porch with easy access walking down to waters edge. Walk, swim, kayak in the Sandy River 200 feet from the house. Located within Mount Hood National Forest , with access to the regions forests for hiking, camping, skiing, kayaking, rafting and exploring. Just an easy drive from Portland. Large Fir trees stand tall on the property, giving it much privacy. Holiday periods require a 3 night minimum stay. Excellent restaurants within minutes along with a short 25 minute drive to historic Timberline Lodge, with skiing year round. Ski Bowl and Mount Hood Meadows ski areas are also located on Mount Hood. Easy driving to Hood River for world class windsurfing. Raft the Deschuttes river in Maupin just 1 hour away from the house location. Explore the forests for mushrooms or pick huckleberries while in season. Watch the Salmon spawn and return in the lower Sandy River and across the street in the 'Salmon' river. The Zig Zag ranger district office is 2 miles away for valuable current hiking and forest activity information.

Golf: Golf just up the street at the Resort on the mountain.

Ski: A quick 12 mile drive to Ski Bowl, 13 miles to Summit ski area, 18 miles to Timberline Lodge and Ski area, 24 miles to Mount Hood Meadows, 26 miles to Cooper Spur. Easy and quick driving to many locations to begin your cross country skiing activities or snow shoeing!
