“If you're looking for the 'WOW' factor, Villa Poletti is the place.”
We just completed a one week stay at Villa Poletti with our two children, their spouses and five grandchildren ranging in age from fifteen to twenty-one. We found activities in the Bellagio area that we were able to enjoy together as a family while at the same time finding individual activities including biking, hiking, swimming, winery visit, etc. We cannot say enough good about the facilities at Villa Poletti, the beauty of its setting and the convenient location. Karin did a great job in providing us information on the Villa and suggestions for activities in the area. Monika was very friendly and helpful in welcoming us, introducing us to the facilities and making us feel at home. We all agreed the pictures did not do justice to the beauty of the Villa and its setting, it exceeded everyone’s expectations. Without any hesitation we give Villa Poletti our highest recommendation and would love to return sometime in the future.
“perfect villa for vacation!”
villa poletti was such a great place for vacation. it had a fantastic pario which we had breakfast every morning looking over lake como, and there were several trees you can pick seasonal fruits in the garden. rooms are a lot bigger and more comfortable than staying at hotels, and it was convenient to go to restaurants which serve local cuisine of bellagio. my wife and kids were impressed i could find such a amazing place for us to stay, and they are asking me to take them there again. i hope we can go back to villa poletti again soon.
“Lovely, authentic Italian living!”
I was lucky enough to stay at Villa Poletti last month. The villa was nicely decorated and had modern amenities. I immediately felt comfortable and at home. Amazing panoramic views of the lake, and a great patio to sit and relax. The location is perfect, not too close or too far from Bellagio. We loved exploring Bellagio and taking the ferry to towns all over Lake Como. I truly hope I am lucky enough to go back!
“Perfect views & comfort on Lake Como”
Believe it or not, the photos don't do it justice -- the views and house are even more beautiful. It's also perfectly situated for visiting Bellagio, and all of the wonderful villas and towns nearby -- that is, if you can tear yourself away from the views. Monkia, the manager, was attentive and informative and warm -- the restaurant and touring recommendations were terrific. SO much nicer than staying in a hotel -- even if a hotel had THOSE VIEWS.
I had the good fortune to stay several days at the wonderful Villa Poletti. Old world charm with modern conveniences, beautiful terrace overlooking the lake and snow peaked alps. An easy walk to the shops and restaurants of Bellagio and the ferry docks. Plenty of room to spread out and relax, wifi, large bathrooms and bedrooms. I can't wait to return!
“The Best Hidden Gem on Lake Como...This place is spectacular!!!!”
Dear readers, i want to express my deepest gratitudine to West and Karin of Villa Poletti. When you choose a property online you never know what you are really getting and if the expectations are going to be as you expect them..what can i say. Me and my fiance from Beverly Hills stay for 7 nights in this wonderful villa and i would define our stay with a title...THE PERFECT STAY. From the moment we arrive Monica greeted us and made us feel at home immediately showing us the entire Villas. The grounds are wonderful with the terrace overlooking the lake where we spent most of our time eating breakfast, lunch and dinner and admiring and enjoy what is Italy all about...Cherrishing the moment. The Kitchen is immaculate with all ultimate appliances for a michelin star chef, the living room grand overlooking the terrace and the lake...you have 4 bedrooms artefully furnishhed...our bedroom was wonderful and facing the lake and for 3 nights we had firewalks ...i called West to say thank you also for this surprise :))). We did not have any kind of noise that interrupted our sleep, the mattress is very comfortable and the bathrooms beautifully designed for your comfort. Being use to travelling 5 star around the World it would of been an easy choice to stay in a 5 star hotel but the real luxury is a Villa and Villa Poletti ticks all our green lights for what we consider luxury and what we are costumed too especially living in Beverly Hills. Readers look no further...if you plan on to go to Bellagio..Villa Poletti is your must stop...you will not regret it and especially you will feel like a King and Queen and instead of staying in a small or large hotel room it will not be in comparison in staying in a 5 star Villa like this with history, comfort, views and all you need to be pampered with. We also enjoyed a few boat tours that they able to arrange. In addition the wifi was excellent and also their Stereo system perfect ...There are so many properties to choose from today and we feel very lucky to have found this villa because is a place that we will go back to every year because a vacation for us is about creating long lasting memories and probably the ones that we have had in Villa Poletti are the most wonderful ones... Grazie West, Karin and Monica....you have been simply OUTSTANDING!! Greetings from Beverly Hills Peter and Ketty
“When can we go back?”
My family was fortunate enough to stay at Villa Poletti for 5 weeks. Karin and West were very responsive to all our questions and concerns. Upon arrival, Monika was very helpful and kind enough to provide us with lots of great "essentials". We brought our 1.5 yr old daughter and nanny with us. Our nanny loved having the upstairs apartment. Though the villa is beautiful, it was very child-friendly- mostly soft edges, fenced backyard, a door can seal-off the downstairs from the stairs, booster seat and crib were also provided. During our stay, we had various friends and family fly in to spend a few days with us at a time. EVERYONE raved at the view. The first morning of our stay, our 1 year old came downstairs, pointed at the view and said "Whoa!" Even after 5 weeks, we were still in awe of it. Please be aware, though, the road to Bellagio is very curvy and narrow plus Italians drive fast! Drinking can be a bit limited when considering the drive afterwards...but honestly very few restaurants beat the view from the villa, so buy bottles to drink while staring at the view. Also, many of our favorite dinners were cooked at home from fresh pasta and Italian grown produce. Some highlights: -if you can rent a boat for the stay, DO IT!, Monika may be able to get you boat mooring (nothing compares to have your own private boat to cruise to different villages and just relaxing on the water...also makes the drinking at dinner not as much of an issue) -in San Giovanni there is a great lake-to-table restaurant, Mella, and a new wine bar called Nene which just opened -there is a communal park in San Giovanni with bucket swings which our daughter loved going to every day -there is a beach within walking distance with a snack bar (lake beach is rocky, though) - my husband and I would do two different morning runs -first one takes you through Loppia then run through Melzi Gardens (entrance fee) directly into Bellagio; second one requires you to cross the street at the river, run past a old church, then go up an old cobblestone walk path to get great views of the lake, into an old town area then you can go to the milk society for fresh local cheese and milk. We already miss Villa Poletti and hope to go back again soon!
“Amazing villa...perfect vacation!”
Our time in Bellagio was amazing. Such a vibrant city full of all the things we were looking for - peaceful strolls along the lake, leisurely afternoons in the Melzi gardens, mornings with cappuccino and brioche at Bar Rossi, and dinners full with the best food and drink available. Villa Poletti was the perfect stay for our perfect getaway. Overlooking the lake, the views from all windows are majestic. Waking in the morning, we would open the shutters to the breathtaking vision of Lake Como and I loved the bell tower of San Giovanni. The Villa Poletti is perfect for a romantic stay or for couples to share a vacation together. There is even an apartment if you have the luxury to bring a nanny with you! The location is perfect, being a short walk to the lake shore or grocery store, and just a quick 5' drive to town center. There is all you need for making dinners at home to enjoy on the garden porch overlooking the lake. The grounds are well manicured and make for a wonderful morning exploration to see what might be in season on the fruit trees. Monika, the house manager, is more than friendly, she is like family. She will assist with all your needs, she even had some "necessities" waiting for us upon arrival (per our request)...namely a few pieces of fruit, flowers, prosciutto and a bottle of wine! Since she is a local, she knows all the ins and outs of Belalgio and the lake region so she can help with any travel inquiries for the area. The house is amazing, being passed down generation to generation, the decor and overall aura make you warm with the richness of it's history. The beds were very comfortable and the layout imparted itself to several families or a family with multiple children as all the bedrooms were upstairs making the downstairs available whilst others might be resting or sleeping. I took my mother and grandmother for a 3 generation trip and the Villa Poletti was the absolute perfect stay for us. We look forward to returning soon!
“The Villa Poletti was a perfect place for us to be!”
The location of the house is enchanting with a magnificent view over Lake Como with all the Villas, towns and villages along the shoreline. The little town of Bellagio is full of interesting places to visit: Cafès, restaurants, shops and art galleries. The climate in this area is just perfect.
