Just six miles down Hwy. 98 you can enjoy Destin – “ The Worlds Luckiest Fishing Village” – charter a private trip or take the kids out on a group boat and catch dinner. While in Destin enjoy fine restaurants, shopping, and golfing on some of the best golf courses in the Panhandle of Florida. Response from the manager Sorry to read your review - I can not see any notes in your reservation that you called us while you were here suffering with these issues. Always amazed that guest stay their entire stay - unhappy - only to complained about it after they have departed. We certainly could have / would have has a housekeeper return to the unit to clean the floors and any other problem areas you might have had. We keep a supply of appliances such as blenders, toasters, etc in the office. We are bound by law not to leave any open containers in the unit - such as salt, pepper, spices - this is for the guest safety, never know when someone might contaminate it for future guest. Agreed that we may not have been able to paint the unit or replace any furniture in the unit , but we have shared your review with the owners, ultimately it is their decision. In the future please call our office with any issues so we can at least make an attempt at fixing them. Happy that you had no bugs and enjoyed the view! Hope to see you back and to give us another chance at getting a better review form you.

“Splendid Stay”
This was our first time to visit the Ft. Walton Beach area. The beaches are beautiful and our stay at the El Matador made our stay perfect. We'll be back with our entire family.

The unit location was premium. The unit contents were a little outdated and worn. The location was on the water and quiet. This is the last resort on the road with little traffic on this end.
