Rates apply for 1-4 persons. La Mayur, located in Utila- Bay Islands, beyond the Mango Inn, just past BICA on Hibiscus Road. and approx 0.5 Km away or a 6 minutes walk from the center of town but far enough away from the hustle and bustle to allow for privacy.

La Mayur is a combination of comfort and tradition, where the unique rhythm of life will bring you peace of mind. It is a rustic themed cottage in indigenous architecture by the locals. Wrapped in the cool embrace of Pumpkin Hill, lush vegetation of Quiebra Piedra, the Botanical Garden, and view of the Caribbean sea, the ambiance that the cottage exudes is irresistibly appealing to every lover of Nature. The cottage's unique wooden architecture, a wrap around balcony, creates a cool and relaxing ambiance and gives a new meaning to the word 'Relax'. As the daylight spills across your bed, awaken to a divers paradise or plan to make it a theme wedding destination.

Celebrate your destination wedding in a secluded beach paradise where white sand, swaying palms and calm waters set a romantic experience. The island's stunning natural landscape provides the perfect backdrop for the ultimate tropical marriage ceremony, and the turquoise waters make for some dramatic photographs on the day.

Say “I do” surrounded by blue skies, turquoise waters and lush island landscapes. Once vows have been exchanged, feast on local seafood with family and friends. At La Mayur we offer far more than unrivaled luxury in breathtaking surrounds. Whether on the beach, or at the garden of La Mayur, a wedding at La Mayur ensures the perfect setting in which you can start your lives together.

This newly built cottage, in December 2012, provides an airy two level living space with beautiful local hardwood floors throughout, Honduran custom made furniture, two air conditioned bedrooms with double beds on the main floor, 2 bathrooms,1 outdoor bathroom, all built to American standards. A wooden stairway leads to the second level with polished hardwood cathedral ceiling with a 2 double bed private space and with a private porch overlooking the bay. The cottage is ideal for two couples or a group of up to 8 people.

If you do not wish to cook in our fully equipped custom designed kitchen, there are various restaurants close by.Eating here is inexpensive and bars are open late in the night. Also the service of our private chef at a cost is available for any catering request. Advance booking is required (Cost of food extra). Weekly housekeeping is available at extra cost.

The Island of Utila is famous for scuba diving/ snorkeling and known as the cheapest place in the world to get PADI certification. The world's second largest barrier reef runs alongside Utila. The island also has the largest local population of whale sharks and a research center dedicated to studying them.

Mayur in Sanskrit means “Peacock” whose exotic beauty captured our minds on our very first visit to Utila, hence the name La Mayur. The cottage's wooden architecture was completed by a dedicated team of local craftsmen whose work is recommendable. We believe in responsible tourism and employ all the support, material and staff from the island.
