WHEELER RIVER LODGE is a hunting and fishing lodge in remote, northern Saskatchewan. We are not accessible by road so must board a float plane from Otter Lake, Saskatchewan to get to our lodge. We are the only lodge within 40 miles. Once in camp, it becomes your own retreat. We send in only one group at a time so you will not have to share the area with anyone.
For a remote experience like no other with fishing comparable to like it was in the “old days”, give Wheeler River Lodge a call. It could be the best call you’ve made all year!

“Unbelievable fishing, hospitality second to none! Kevin and Cheryl are the friendliest host's I have ever met!”
Had a great week, even though we were a little early for the walleye bite, we still caught a bunch of great walleyes, numerous northerns over 40 inches and some big lake trout! Staying with Kevin and Cheryl is like staying with your aunt and uncle! Very friendly! Saw some moose and had a close encounter with a bear as well! It is truly God's country up there and is an incredible get away I would recomend to absolutely anyone that enjoys spending quality time with friends and family in the great outdoors!
“Fantastic Canadian fishing trip”
My family and I have been to Wheeler 5 times. Best fishing lodge we have been to and we have fished Canada about 20 yrs. Kevin and Cheryl are wonderful, friendly and kind; down to earth people. Kevin offers guiding service which helps alot the first time you are there. Thereafter you can fish on your own. Cabin is clean and roomy. We eat walleye for supper almost every night. It's also great that they offer discounts for kids under 16. Go early June for pike and lakers. Later in June for walleye. Overall a fantastic vacation
“It definitely is a slice of heaven on earth.”
I first came to the Wheeler in 1991, and I have came back 17 times since then. It is the best fishing anywhere hands down.Accommodations are great, well taken care of. Owners Kevin&Cheryl; do whatever it takes to make your stay the best ever.Your group are the only ones on the many lakes you can fish. They will make you a shore lunch of delicious walleye and fixings, if want it.
“As good as it gets!”
If your looking for a small do it yourself fishing camp, this is your place. The lodge/camp itself is clean, comfortable and most importantly has excellent equipment. The owners run it themselves, with the help of one guide (if needed). They take one group at a time and thus provide hands on service. They are very knowledgeable about the water and area. The camp is on a 13 plus mile river with 4 separate walk-in lakes which have their own boats. Now the best part. The fishing is unbelievable especially if you are looking for large world class pike (40 inch plus). It is a catch and release camp (excluding what you eat while there), which in my opinion is why the fish get so big. Walleye fishing is also excellent, but when big pike are as plentyful as they are...I focus on the pike. They also have the other two species, trout and grayling which round out your fishing experience. It is not uncommon to see bears, moose, osprey, eagles, and of course the sight and sound of the loons. This is a very special place where a quality outdoor experience is the focus. I have been to numerous camps in the past 20 years, and have returned to the WRL the past four years in a row. You will be glad you arrived, had a blast while you stayed, and will want to come back.
