“Gorgeous home, incredible views!” Pictures cannot do this home justice. It is 5 star from the largest to the smallest details being met not only in the design and build of this tradtional looking NFLD. home but in the amenities as well as the care that is taken in the maintenance and upkeep of this beautiful place. We were extremely comfortable and will certainly stay again.

Marbella Cottage

Bonavista house

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 5

“Bonavista Beauty!” My husband and I along with my sister and her husband stayed at the lovely Marbella cottage in mid-August. It is a lovely, quiet place and beautifully decorated. It was great to take excursions and come back to a place that felt like 'home'. It is steps to the ocean and the beautiful sunsets that Bonavista offers. We would recommend this to any friends or family that travel to Newfoundland. This area has lots to offer. Thanks, Linda, Lou, Maureen and Dave

In addition, you have many things (hiking, archaeological, historical) available to explore from Bay Bulls to South Portugal Cove. The house provides everything you need during your stay. Enjoy just like we did.

“Luxurious and off-the-grid! Great for the adventurer and the rom” We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and your hospitality! The cottage was beautiful, in an amazing setting right on the lake, and was within an easy drive to various attractions and amenities. Everything we needed was there, including lots of little extras. We were thrilled to quad around the myriad of logging roads and trails in the area and seeing the various wildlife was definitely an added bonus. We will definitely be back - hopefully in the winter for some skidooing with friends!

About Newfoundland and Labrador

Now before you animal lovers get too excited, big fluffy dogs don't run around the streets here (we checked).

Newfoundland and Labrador is, however, a fantastic vacation spot. Whether you want to take in the history, try something adventurous or just relax, this is the place for you.

About Newfoundland and Labrador

Newfoundland and Labrador is the most easterly province of Canada. It's a small collection of islands with a lot to offer.

Though it's tempting to stay in St John's - the capital - it's also worth looking at other areas for a more unusual stay. FlipKey has a wide variety of Newfoundland and Labrador vacation rentals, so why not start looking?

The history of this province can be traced back over 9,000 years, right back to when the Beothuk tribes started living here. Visit one of the many museums to learn more about them!

Its position on the Atlantic, and the fact that it’s made up of lots of little islands, means that Newfoundland and Labrador's climate varies quite a lot. The summers are cool, and the winter sees a bit of snow.

What to do in Newfoundland and Labrador

There's so much to do on these islands, it's hard to know where to start.

To make sure you see all that's on offer, we suggest taking a boat tour and exploring the main islands. While you're out on the water you'll see huge icebergs and probably some humpback whales - don't forget to bring your camera!

There are many lighthouses on the islands, but our favorite is the Ferryland lighthouse. Not only is it one of the oldest - it was built in the 1870s - but they do delicious gourmet lunches! Just pick a spot outside and enjoy.

While we're talking about food, you must try some of the wild Atlantic salmon! You'll never be too far from a plate of fish and chips during this vacation.

For the adventurous, follow a local guide on a harvesting rail up the Torngat mountains. The vast wilderness is spectacular and you may see Inuits hunt, fish and travel as they've done for centuries.

Top Newfoundland and Labrador travel tips

You won't need to worry about your French vocabulary here. Most of the locals speak English.

Gratuities aren't usually included in Canadian bars and restaurants, so you'll be expected to leave a tip. Between 10-15% is standard.

An extra jumper won't go amiss on this vacation, either. Even in the summer, the sea breeze can be a bit harsh. But it's made worth it when you see a whale or two on the horizon.

FlipKey has a vast selection of vacation rentals for you to choose from in Newfoundland and Labrador. Just pick an island and see where you end up. An unforgettable vacation awaits...

Woodhavencottages
Wood haven Cottages

We stayed at Wood Haven Cottages in New Harbor NFLD during our retirement vacation for 2 weeks. We found the hosts to be some of the nicest people we have met during our trip. The cottage had everything we needed, was very clean and comfortable beds and lots of extras for the cottage. We had a tire with a slow leak one morning, and Wendall made sure that the problem was taken care of and even phoned the garage to get our tire repaired. Rachel checked each day to see if we needed anything for our stay. Would recommend this location to anyone going to NFLD.see more

Little Wild Cove Cottage
Beautiful location and cottage.

Twillingate Island has some spectacular scenery, on land and in the ocean. There were many icebergs around the coast when we were there. Wild Cove is a beautiful setting with spectacular views over Burnt Island. The Little Wild Cove Cottage is a spacious, well designed, well built, comfortable building with above average amenities. The cottage and kitchen are better equipped than most we have stayed at previously. The bathroom could use proper handles on the interior of the two sliding doors, however. Having the second spacious (queen) bedroom in a separate building is a unique feature. We also enjoyed the large outside deck.see more
Perfect Two Bedroom- Best Street!
Awesome little rental

The cottage is exactly the way it is photgraphed. It is completely upgraded top to bottom. Loved the decore and the location. Short walk to downtown and George Street. Clean and very comfortable. The owner stopped by to say hello; very friendly welcome. Parking is available on the street in front. Quiet location but steps away from all amenities.see more

Beautiful Tara House
Amazing!!!

The house was great!!! The owners were very quick to respond with any of our questions and sent their neighbor, Joe, over to get us the patio chairs in the garage, so we could sit out on the balcony and enjoy the beautiful view. He also told us about many trails and sites to see while we were there!! He was amazing!! The house is beautifully finished with everything you would need. The only thing that was a little low when we arrived was soap in the bathrooms but not a big deal at all. It was more than made up for with everything else. We loved our stay!! Apparently we lucked out with the weather. There were cool nights but the day temperature was usually in the mid-teens which is cooler than we are used to for the summer but since we went hiking every day, we were happy to have slightly cooler weather. We also enjoyed seeing whales in the distance from the balcony, the occasional bald eagle and even had a moose come up the driveway one afternoon. All and all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would recommend this place to anyone who is thinking of going to Newfoundland. We couldn’t have asked for a better trip!!! Thank you so much for letting us enjoy your beautiful home!!see more
