Surrounded by lush tropical growth and indigenous trees frequently visited by bushbuck and blue and grey duiker, the private and safe villa offers beautiful and uninterrupted 180-degree sea horizon and breaker views of the Indian Ocean

Watch humpback whales lazing slowly past or dolphins frolicking in the ocean from the bedroom, kitchen, and lounge or sundeck balcony with braai facility. Dolphin & Whale Africa Villa has a lock-up garage on the ground floor and a private entrance leads up a staircase to a large balcony. A wall-to-wall sliding door opens into the lounge and fully equipped custom-made kitchen. The large bedroom offers views of the ocean through picture-frame windows. Full bathroom with shower and bath. Linen and towels supplied. Bring own towels for swimming. DVD player available and standard TV

Activities:

Game Viewing The village of Trafalgar is blessed in having no fewer than three official reserves either running through it or immediately adjacent to it. These are the Trafalgar Marine Reserve, the Yengeli Forest Reserve and the Impenjati Nature Reserve. The village itself, however, is also good for nature rambles, as there is considerable wildlife, the birding is good breeding paits o fish eagles) and most of the streets are either lined with trees and/or natural bush.

There are still large areas of the village that are naturally wooded, which means that there is still quite a lot of wildlife around. We have Blue duiker, Common duiker and Bushbuck, both the Tree hyrax and the Rock hyrax, the Large spotted genet and the Large grey mongoose, and of course the Vervet monkey

Bird Watching The bird life is prolific and we have well over a hundred species recorded here, including the Fish eagle (nesting at Impenjati), Crowned eagle, the Knysna and the Purple-crested lourie, nightjars, kingfishers and of course sea birds like the Cape Gannet and the African black oystercatcher.

Other Activities Ask your hosts for more information regarding scuba diving (two of the finest dive sites in the world - Aliwal Shoal and Protea Banks), protected surfing spots, various blue flag beaches, angling (rock and surf) and deep sea charters, the butterfly sanctuary, crocodile farm, golfing, arts and crafts. Don't miss the sardine run (June - July each year) - a spectacular event exclusive to the Hibiscus coast and Dolphin & Whale Villa's balcony is one of the best viewing points.

Visit various nature reserves: MPENJATI a few 100 metres from Dolphin & Whale Villa. Mpenjati means "the place of the warring buffaloes" and offers a relaxing 3 km trail winding along the north bank of the Mpenjati River through magnificent forest scenery. There are picnic spots alongside the beautiful lagoon. UMTAMVUNA at Port Edward offers a 25 km walk from the sea along the Umtamvuna River. More trees are found here than anywhere else in Southern Africa. Approximately 1 300 indigenous flowering plants have been listed andthe area is also home of the Cape Vulture.
