“Fantastic value, but house was messy and supplies were missing”
Don't get me wrong. If I could give 3.5 stars, I'd do it. This place could easily get 5, but we found a few faults when we arrived. The good: It's in a beautiful location, within convenient distance to stores, the Ski Resort, and some smaller towns that have good food. It's roomy, has almost everything you would need to move into for a week. Having a garden, fire place, fire pit (outside), grills, a full kitchen, and TV/internet, you think you'd have almost everything you need. The couch was new, and reportedly so was the upstairs carpeting. The not-so-good: We arrived, after reading the description and having been sent info from the homeowner regarding the place. It sounded to us like everything was there if we wanted to enjoy any of the amenities. We planned on grilling steaks the first night we were there. We got out to the screened in porch where they had the grill only to realize that the only bag of charcoal out there was completely empty. So, we had to sautee the steaks on the stove. Well, the pots and pans aren't in very good condition. The ones that were big enough to do what we had to do wouldn't sit flatly on the stove, so we had to keep shifting them so that all surfaces would be heated by the elements. The owner had advised us prior to our stay that the dishwasher had broken and they ordered a new one. That's fine, he mentioned we could just leave the dirty dishes for his cleaning crew to handle. What we weren't told is that they left all of the dirty dishes from the previous guests in the dishwasher. So, anything we needed that there wasn't ample supply of, we had to wash out of the dirty dishwasher. To top it off, the dishes in the cabinets were very dusty, presumably from time untouched. The beds: 2 of the 3 were rock hard. We were excited to see one of them was a sleep number, but the controls didn't work, and the bed wouldn't change 'softness.' so, looking at the positive points, it's worth a stay, but be prepared.
“beautiful home in the Berkshires”
We had a great time at this house. It's located in the eastern most part of the Berkshires and was a great launching pad for exploring the area. It was very spacious and perfect for our family vacation. The pond was lovely and peaceful with a beautiful walk around it. The house was very clean with good internet and a well-stocked kitchen. The front yard was perfect for playing catch and we lucked out with lots of blackberries to snack on. There is no cell phone reception, which was the only downside.
The home was beautiful and spacious. The beds, floor, bathrooms, and living room were all in great condition. Perry was a delight to work with and very helpful. He has a wonderful regional guide. The kitchen is really the only downfall of this property. My suggestion is to bring paper plates or be ready to hand-wash all your dishes/cups/silverware.
House in lovely location with almost private lake at back of house which we frequented often. My husband and son fished almost everyday. House itself was adequate though could do with some renovation and a decent clean. However, I understand that the kitchen is about to undergo a renovation. We really enjoyed the edible garden and picked from it regularly. It could do with a gardener coming in and weeding beds and patio etc. occasionally. All in all, a very pleasant stay.
I'll start by saying that our cell phones had no reception while we were at this house. With that being said, it was such a great weekend not having to deal with my phone! Anyhow, we all had a great time. The house had everything we needed. My kids enjoyed the fire pit the most. We spent our nights roasting marshmellows at the fire pit. I enjoyed the pond the best. I didnt catch that many fish but I still had a good time being on the pond. We look forward to spending more time at this vacation home!
“House in the Berkshire Mountains”
This house was awesome for my family and I. The bedrooms were comfortable and plenty of space for the family to spead out after a long day of sight seeing. My mother-in-law joined us and she had her own bedroom and bathroom which made her stay very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with everyday staples. The owner even provided charcoal for the bbq pit. I would totally recommended this vacation rental. I have already recommened this home to my co-workers and one is considering going in next year. Totally recommended this property!!!
“Great, relaxing week”
My wife and I rented this home with a couple of other couples and had an amazing time! We brought our bicycles and rode every morning on quiet, beautiful roads right out of the driveway, we hiked a couple of miles on the trails right out of the backyard every afternoon, we swam at a local beach every evening, and we slept soundly every night. I have not had a more relaxing, peaceful vacation ever! The home is well appointed with comfortable, clean furnishings and the kitchen has everything you could need for dinnerware and cooking gear. I can't wait to enjoy another week in the Berkshires staying at this wonderful home.
“Just like home”
Perry's home was just perfect for our vacation. The location is beautiful and perfect if you are looking to get away from busy town centers. We enjoyed the trails on and around the property and sitting down by the pond. It happened to be a little chilly during our stay so the fireplace was a great touch! The layout is great for multiple families we had plenty of space for everyone. Our party of 8-7 of which were adults-was very comfortable.
“Beatiful setting, fully equiped comfortable and cozy home”
I stayed here with my wife and two children (ages 10 and 4). it was great. Living room very comfortable with a great fireplace. Kitchen was great to cook in. Perhaps the best part was the outside area. We are hikers and could walk to some terrific snow mobile trails. it snowed a lot, which made it even more beautiful. Cell phones do not work here, which was just fine with us. We look forward to staying here again.
“Lovely home on incredible property in the Berkshires”
Cute and cozy house set deep into the stunning countryside of The Berkshires. Farms and hills abound. A well-equipped kitchen, lovely gazebo (to keep the bugs at bay), nice fireplace, 3+ bedrooms, great showers with plenty of hot water. All very good. But the real gem is backyard! A "pond"-- more of a small lake -- with busy beavers, birds and deer. And a row boat to explore. And then myriad state park hiking trails right off the property! Take a trail run to a tucked away 19th century private graveyard, or an abanded apple orchard. A very special spot in ma. We'll be back.
