Description from owner

Description

A delightful three bedroom chalet nestling in the hollow of the hill, situated four miles from the pretty seaside village of Cushendun. The cottage enjoys panoramic views of the surrounding valley. The caves featured in "The Game of Thrones" is sited in the village. From inside and out, the cottage enjoys spectacular views of the Glendun valley. The perfect base for anyone who wants to be surrounded by an outstanding natural environment and yet within easy driving reach of N Ireland`s top attraction "The Giants Causeway".

The cottage is beside “Ronan`s Way”. This is a series of designated walks through farmland stretching from 5.8 km to 1.5k. Some take you up the steep hill leading to the top of the valley, whilst others provide a leisurely stroll along the tumbling waters of the River Dun.. All around are superb views of the surrounding glen and on the top of the hill sight of The Mull of Kintyre, Rathlin Island and Sea of Moyle as well as the adjacent glens and valleys.can be enjoyed. Bring along your picnic and enjoy it at some of the sites provided, information on the history, flora and fauna of the farm is available on site.

On the lower tracks guests can enjoy a more leisurely amble taking in the sounds of a wonderful natural environment and listen to the babbling of the River Dun making its way down the valley. Walking foot wear and outdoor gear is advised especially for the high slopes as the open moorland can be very wet..

The secluded patio at the rear of the property is a trap for the afternoon sun and provides the ideal place to relax, have a quiet read or enjoy an evening barbeque. The cottage is the perfect base for visiting all the places of interest along the North Antrim Coast e.g. only a short drive from the Giants Causeway, Kenban , Ballintoy Rope Bridge, Bushmills Distillery as well as the many historical sites, beaches and villages in the area. Several scenes from the popular TV series "Game of Thrones" were filmed nearby you can easily visit the caves at Cushendun and The Dark Hedges at Armoy, enjoy the boat journey from Ballycastle to Rathlin Island, visit the bird sanctuary and learn all about the birds from the RSBP officer or just enjoy the challenge of walking around the island.

The Cottage is just a short drive from Ballycastle Golf course and Watertop Open Farm,
