Described as 'absolute bliss' and 'wonderfully peaceful' by some of our previous guests, The Swallows offers true tranquillity near the village of Abbotsbury, a short drive from the seaside town of Weymouth and the picturesque Jurassic Coast. We have seven self-catering cottages in total forming Character Farm Cottages and all stand on our beautiful and extensive working dairy farm where we provide a wholesome family holiday experience rare in modern times. The Swallows is available for weekly holidays all year and for off-season short breaks. It is near some of Dorset's most spectacular attractions and only a mile from Chesil Beach which can be seen from most of the farm.

The Swallows Cottage offers home-from-home comforts for a holiday you can take at your own pace. At the cottage you're welcome to enjoy winter evenings in front of the open fire, or to spend summer mornings sipping your coffee on the patio. You can take a slow walk to the beach, enjoy a fantastic family days out to Lodmoor Country Park or stay right here on the farm to feed the cows and watch them being milked.

The Swallows is a cottage full of character, with those homely touches that ensure a comfortable and convenient stay. It's a short walk from the coastal path offering breath taking views of Chesil Beach, and it sleeps four for an unforgettable and refreshing stay by the wonderful Jurassic Coast.

Our bright country cottage contains all you need to enjoy a holiday or short break in Dorset. Cottage furnishings are comfortable, and the well-equipped farmhouse kitchen includes all the essentials with a pine dining table for four. A sofa and two armchairs provide space for the whole family to relax by the fire, and you'll be able to watch your favourite shows and movies using the flat-screen TV and DVD player.

Guests sleep in one twin bedroom, and in a second bedroom with a double zip-and-link bed to be converted to a second twin room if required. The bathroom has both shower and bath facilities, and the property includes plenty of storage room including a built-in wardrobe and airing cupboard. You'll find on-site parking adjacent, and you'll have access to the communal Old Stable containing shared laundry facilities, a wireless internet network, table tennis and table football facilities and a selection of games and books. Even teenagers will find plenty to keep them busy!

“A lovely cottage in a peaceful location”

This is a beautiful cottage with great views across the valley.It is located in a very quiet country location yet only 5 miles from Weymouth.The Dorset coast is well worth visiting.
