I am lucky to have just come back from my 2nd stay at Doubloon in 4 months! This trip my husband & I invited my 2 sisters and their husbands to join us. This was their first trip to Jamaica and I can tell you there is nothing more exciting than introducing someone to Treasure Beach for the very first time! As always, I used Treasure Tours to book our accommodations and airport transportation. Rebecca, Debbian & Nickel provide a fantastic service and it is a pleasure doing business with them! Our Treasure Beach vacations start with a pick up at the airport; Kevin kindly takes us to Mega Mart to load up on some much needed supplies :-) and then brings us to Border Jerk for lunch for a quick bits to eat before we make the ceremonious drive to Treasure Beach. I never, ever take the drive into Treasure Beach for granted..... Coming around the corner and seeing the the village & sea always warms my heart. Upon arrival at Doubloon we were greeted by Hio, Nadine & Robert and then it was off to show everyone the property. No surprise, everyone was veryyyyy happy with the accomodations! And even happier with the glorious view! Doubloon is a very comfortable vacation villa for 3 couples... Everyone was more than satisfied with their king bed rooms with ensuite baths. Judy has done a fantastic job keeping the amenities at Doubloon top notch. There are many places to sit as group as well as spots to go sit if you want to quietly read or nap. Hio and Nadine keep the place clean and tidy while Robert tends to the outside; the newly extended pool deck was our most favorite place to be day or night! The days beds and chaise lounges are comfortable and there is the right amount of sun & shade! We six spent the week pool side, riding the waves, walking the beach and exploring around town. Of course we did the Black River/Pelican Bar boat trip, had to show the sisters what it was all about as they have been hearing us talk about it for 12+ years!! A first for me was Dennis's boat trip to a private beach for lunch (we booked this about 3 weeks before arrival, thru Debbian) and what a wonderful day that was! the beach was beautiful and the food (crab appetizer and lobster with rice & vegetables) was DELICIOUS! The rum punch & beers were pretty good too :-) Luckily, none of us are picky eaters and we were happy to eat anything Hio & Nadine cooked! They were very helpful with planning meals and lettin us know what was available so we could eat fresh & local as much as possible. Breakfast was served poolside and dinner inside at the dining room table. One of our favorite meals was the curried goat. The banana panackes were also a group favorite. As was the coconut cream pie. And the calalloo cheese omeletes..... Although we tried to not over eat, it is very hard to not be a member of the clean plate club when these 2 cook for you!! It was a wonderful week and now my sisters understand why we go back to Treasure Beach year after year and sometimes twice a year! Although our schedules are busy and vacation time limited, we are already trying to plan when we six can return together. A HUGE thank you to Judy for sharing her piece of paradise! Much appreciation and thanks to Hio, Nadine, & Robert for taking such good care of all us! Shout out to Kevin for getting us to and from Treasure Beach safely! Many thanks to Debbian for responding promptly to all my questions! And much gratitude to Rebecca for her friendship and taking care of the little details that make our trips to Treasure Beach more special each and every time. Is it next year yet?!?! :-) Meredith
“A Gem in Treasure Beach”
The moment we walked into Doubloon and stood in the TV room overlooking the dining table out to the ocean, we knew this was going to be a wonderful home for a week. Hio greeted us at the door and we were pleasantly surprised when we toured the Villa and moved into our respective rooms. Our stay was like no other vacation. We were pampered by Hio and Robert took very good care of all of our other needs. The Villa is immaculate, the bedrooms spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The grand room overlooking the patio and the sea was more than comfortable for evenings and for visiting friends. Hio is a fabulous cook and we had a great variety in our meals with plenty of leftovers. We were always served our late morning smoothies from the left over fruit from breakfast, which was always a treat. The pool and thatch area became the focal point of our days. Either reading on the day beds, tanning on the lounges or swimming in the pool, this area great. Also where we had our breakfast served. Swims in the sea were a daily ritual as were walks on Calabash Bay discovering the area and meeting the locals. Sunrises and sunsets were gorgeous. All in all, Doubloon went well beyond our expectations. Rebecca and Debbian at Treasure Tours, Hio and Robert and the locals of Treasure Beach made our stay fabulous. We loved Doubloon Villa <3
“Most amazing vacation and service I've ever had”
There are so many wonderful things to say about this vacation its hard to consolidate it down :) The house is absolutely amazing. Each bedroom is special and unique and the outdoor living space is more than we could dream of. Hio and Nadine were our chefs and housekeepers and I couldn't say anything better about those two - they made the most delicious food, helped us with any favors or questions we had, and probably made too many trips to the grocery store (and liquor store!) than usual for us! Robert was awesome as the groundskeeper - as soon as it started raining (which probably lasted 5 minutes the entire trip) he would appear out of thin air to get the outdoor seat cushions out of the rain. We had such a great time and it was my husband and mine's first time bringing our friends - its a different kind of vacation, much more authentic and cultural than most are used to so we were a little nervous about how they would like it but everyone agreed - this vacation was amazing. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a more relaxing, private, and less touristy vacation spot.
“how soon can we return?”
3rd trip....it keeps getting better. Bring mosquito repellant. Nearest ATM is 30 minute drive....bring cash.
“It was great to experience a week of total bliss”
From the first moment we felt as if we were coming home. Hio looked after us every day without "hovering" and the food was simply wonderful. Robert keeps everything around the villa in tip top shape and it was quite difficult to actually see him doing it! This will no doubt be our home away from home for some time to come. Rebecca checked in on us often to make sure everything was in order and if we needed anything at all.
“Words are not enough!!”
Judy Hanley...thank you for opening up your house for the rest of the world to enjoy!! Least liked...leaving!! Best liked...everything!! Location...the best on the south side of Jamaica:):) Two weeks, 7 friends, and a lifetime of memories!! Let the staff at the Dubloon take you on a Jamaican vacation!! Hio, Nadine and Robert are...hmmm...friends, to say the very least. This was home, no doubt about it. Silvan and Rebecca from Treasure tours are most awesome!! Anywhere you want to go, call Silvan and you are off on a safe, fun adventure!! Can't wait to go back...only about 1070 sleeps left till I am back at my Jamaican home:):)
I couldn't have asked for anything more perfect than our stay at Doubloon Villa in Treasure Beach. From the fist communications, to making arrangements while there, to the daily service - everything was perfect The Villa is perfect - minutes away (walking)from the local resto's, bars and everything else but so nicely nestled away on Calabash bay, realistically like having your own private beach, just open the gate and away we went, no packing a towel or having to plan ahead - want to take a dip..1..2...3 catch a wave! The Villa was beautiful; private washrooms for each room - and what was the best was that there is an area for everyone, so even as a larger group there are so many beautiful area's you can have your own private time. Under the palapa / Tiki by the pool, there is always a beautiful breeze - but from everywhere a view of the water and sound of the waves! We had the most beautiful sunsets every evening cascading by what I called the big bonsai tree...overall I cannot say enough - big group, or a romantic pampering trip, Doubloon had it all...I went with a group of 5 to celebrate my 40th birthday and it was the best vacation ever. And did I mention the staff? Hio, Nadine and Robert were like an immediate extended family, and Rebecca, Debbian and Judy were great to deal with and super friendly. I would go back in a heart beat and have no hesitation to recommend Doubloon to anyone looking for one of the best Villa's in Treasure beach!
“We had a taste of paradise”
The villa is very nice, the pool is very private. Treasure Beach is fabulous place, beach is stunning. We did have a great time on our vacation, Judy is one of a kind owner, and she really cares about her guests. Every question was answered. Hio and Robert spoiled us. If you looking for getaway to the place where everybody has time and smile on there faces this is the place! We loved and we are coming back soon!
We stayed at Doubloon Villa for one week and had an amazing time. The 6 of us, all in our 30's, had a blast playing in the surf and having drinks by the pool. The ladies at the Villa took great care of us with fantastic fruit platters and yummy lobster. We all kept repeating that the photos really don't do this place justice. We have stayed at many vrbo villas, but this one blew us away! the beach is beautiful, the staff are so friendly and warm, the pool is great and we so enjoyed every minute of our stay.
“Doubloon Villa aka heaven”
Our family of six, consisting of two adults and four children, (13,10,10,8) as well as our two friends and their teenage son stayed at the Doubloon over the kids Thanksgiving Day vacation. We couldn't have imagined a more beautiful place to stay! The kids spent the entire week outdoors, never missing a TV or video game! Having breakfast each morn under the tiki hut by the pool was amazing. Haio & Nadine are phenomenal chefs! Fresh fruit and eggs, festival and coffee spoiled us each morning, all the while gazing at the ocean. The pool and beach are totally crystal clear and very private. There were very few people on the beach, mostly locals who we grew to adore by the end of the trip, and were very sad to say goodbye to. Every evening Haio & Nadine again went out of their way to prepare delish dinners and desserts, always smiling, such beautiful souls they both are. Robert is the groundskeeper and is talented and hospitable, always around if you have any questions or issues. Judy and Rebecca were both extremely informative, helpful and more than hospital for weeks leading up to our trip, during and following up as well. My husband and I compare this trip to the Wizard of Oz. We left for a bit to a land beyond serine, met amazing "characters" that we grew to love like family, and tearfully had to leave. No words can describe our visit. It was that spectacular. Our stories just don't do it justice. Can't wait to return next year to this bit of paradise. xoxoxo
