“The best the best the best” We traveled with our 4 children and my mother in law to Treasure Beach for the week. It was absolutely Phenomenal. It is perfectly situated On the beach with two magnificent beach coves 20 steps from the door. Our kids were able to run in and out easily all day. Absolutely highlight however is audrey's fantastic cooking. We made a menu with her for the week and every night after a heavenly day at the beach we were greeted with a traditional, home cooked Jamaica Feast. Book early because this house books up far in advance.

“Peaceful Paradise” Sparkling Waters is an amazing place to stay. We have stayed there multiple times and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend this property. My favorite thing to do is relax on the pool deck overlooking the beautiful Carribean Sea. If you want to be adventerous there are plenty of day trips/tours to take. A trip to YS Falls is a must. Miss Petrina and Miss Tonarge will take wonderful care of you and your entire group. Rest assured you will have terrific time!

“Most amazing vacation and service I've ever had” There are so many wonderful things to say about this vacation its hard to consolidate it down :) The house is absolutely amazing. Each bedroom is special and unique and the outdoor living space is more than we could dream of. Hio and Nadine were our chefs and housekeepers and I couldn't say anything better about those two - they made the most delicious food, helped us with any favors or questions we had, and probably made too many trips to the grocery store (and liquor store!) than usual for us! Robert was awesome as the groundskeeper - as soon as it started raining (which probably lasted 5 minutes the entire trip) he would appear out of thin air to get the outdoor seat cushions out of the rain. We had such a great time and it was my husband and mine's first time bringing our friends - its a different kind of vacation, much more authentic and cultural than most are used to so we were a little nervous about how they would like it but everyone agreed - this vacation was amazing. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a more relaxing, private, and less touristy vacation spot.

Villa de la Sable located on the edge of the sea offering spectacular views

Treasure Beach house

“Jamaican Luxury that won't blow a budget!” If you are looking for a relaxing and luxurious vacation that won't blow your budget, Villa de la Sable is the place. This two bedroom villa, located in Treasure Beach, sits above the water, affording you miles of view, of the Caribbean Sea. You'll be greeted by Petrina, your housekeeper and chef and Leandy, the grounds keeper an go to guy. Pop open a cold Red Stripe and enjoy the tour of your vacation retreat, with the smells of jerk chicken or lobster thermador tantalizing your hunger. The villa is a quaint two story with two bedrooms upstairs, sharing a balcony, overlooking the sea. Downstairs you'll find a good sized kitchen, large living space, dining area and a sitting place perfect for slapping some dominoes. Grab another Red Stripe and take a look around outside. The pool will blow you away, I mean, it's huge with great sitting areas all around and a deck below the pool level that is gigantic and a wonderful place to watch those incredible Jamaican sunsets. This place will make you pinch yourself more than once before the end of the week. Seriously! If there is one fault of this villa, it would be that swimming is not the best on the beach below but a great swimming beach is just a short walk away. If you are more into quiet and beautiful views, I just can't fault Villa de la Sable. Back to your hunger, Petrina is a wonderful chef and housekeeper. Her dishes are tasty and healthy Jamaican fare and will try to fill any requests you may have. Between meals and after, the house is very private. Treasure Beach is no Negril or Ochos Rios. It is a extremely friendly fishing village on the south coast. Anything you have heard about the hassles of Jamaica, are just not here. Please go out, walk down the road, say hi to strangers who will smile and respond with a friendly hello. Stop in a local bar and slap some dominoes with the locals, careful though, they are good! Buy some fresh roasted coffee from Miss Dawn at Smurfs Cafe. A week was not long enough!

“Our family of 10 with ages from 20 months to 70 years had a magi” Our family consisting of my husband and I, our two children, their spouses, and four children ages 20 months, 22 months, 3 years, and 6 years wanted a place to have a family reunion and to get a shot of sunshine in the middle of Winter. We could not have asked for a more perfect place for our reunion for all ages. The scenery was beautiful, the plantings inspiring, the rooms so comfortable, and the staff so welcoming and attentive. There was plenty of fun activities for everyone at our fingertips- a lovely veranda for reading and sunning, a 4 ft. lap pool where our 6 year old learned to swim and the other small ones could play, a lovely beach with a shallow area for swimming and plenty of sand for sand castle building, a tennis court perfect for beginners, even a croquet set, and a picturesque gazebo on the beach where there was always shade and a breeze. The climate was perfect with sunny and dry temperatures of about 85 every day. We loved the fact that we were actually in a fishing village and got to know some of the warm and friendly local people. There were lots of nearby trips to interesting areas which would have been fun to explore if our children were not so young. But our family just enjoyed staying right at Hikaru with only one trip into Treasure Beach and a hike up into the local mountains with Patrick who was part of the staff. The only challenging thing for us was the fact that it takes 2 1/2 hours to drive from Montego Bay over the mountains on two lane bumpy roads to Treasure Beach. We brought the kids car seats and fortunately hired the recommended Treasure Tours. Kevin was our driver and he was excellent having traveled these roads many times each week. This was a trip of a life time which our family will never forget. We hope to be able to return in the near future.

About Treasure Beach

Treasure Beach, Jamaica is not what you expect to come across on a Caribbean vacation. In essence, it is the real Jamaica. There aren't any gimmicky hotels or hustlers—it’s authentic in every way.

To book the perfect vacation rental, search here on FlipKey. There's no better way to start planning your trip.

About Treasure Beach

Found on Jamaica’s south coast, Treasure Beach is the name given to four coves—Great Bay, Billy’s Bay, Frenchman’s Bay and Calabash Bay.

Treasure Beach is, in fact, a string of sleepy fishing villages that practice sustainable local development through farming fishing and eco-tourism.

Legend has it that a ship full of Scottish sailors was shipwrecked in the area back in the 19th century, leaving behind a legacy of fair skinned, green-eyed locals with red hair. Whether true or not, the citizens of Treasure Beach have a strong community spirit and are fiercely proud of being Jamaican.

What you will not find in Treasure Beach is any resemblance to a resort and a distinct lack of para-sailing, jet skis and extravagant nightlife.

What you will find, however, is six miles of beautiful beaches lapped by warm tropical water where you can swim, body surf and just chill out.

What to do in Treasure Beach

As a place to escape the madding crowd, Treasure Beach is perfect. But when you feel like you want to go out and explore the area, you can do that too. Go horseback riding along the beach or into the interior to watch people go about their daily lives.

As far as day trips are concerned, you have lots of choices. One of the most popular tours is a trip to Dunn's River Falls near Ocho Rios. The 600-foot falls offer a refreshingly cool dip and make for excellent photographs and breathtaking scenery.

Visit the capital, Kingstown, to visit Bob Marley’s house and then the pirate haven of Port Royal known in the 17th century as the “wickedest city on earth” (Pirates of the Caribbean fans know what it's about!).

Other top tours include a trip to a Blue Mountain coffee plantation and a visit to Appleton’s Rum Distillery. Both are worth tearing yourself away from the beach for.

Top travel tips for Treasure Beach

There is never a bad time to visit Treasure Beach, but being in the Caribbean it's worth tracking Hurricanes during the summer months.

Jamaica has a cuisine all of its own that has developed by integrating many different cultures. Curried goat, fried plantains, salt cod and peas and rice will be on just about any menu. Don’t be put off by how a restaurant might look from the outside as the food could be spectacular.

No need to pack any formal wear as casual and comfortable are the fashion statements around Treasure beach.

If sitting on your veranda with a Red Stripe beer looking up at the stars and wondering about what a lot of nothing you will do tomorrow, then Treasure Beach is for you. To find the perfect rental property, visit FlipKey where they have dozens to choose from.

Fantastic Spot!!

This place is amazing, so remote and relaxed. Not a tourist in sight except for us. Angie (the cook/lady who does everything) and her family are really wonderful people, her cooking is delicious traditional Jamaican fare and so good. The water is warm and so close. I'll never forget falling asleep there to the sound of the sea.see more

Paradise

it was my 8th time in Treasure Beach, First time in Villa de l'Ocean. Great rental, one of the best in TB. Spacious villa, lush surroundings, great swimming pool, even if there are guests staying at another villa, the territory is big enough to enjoy privacy. Ideal for two couples. Tonarge is a great cook and a wonderful person. Rebeca and Debbian from Treasure Tours are very accommodating. Missed you already! Definitely would love come back!see more
Villa de la Sable located on the edge of the sea offering spectacular views
Perfect First Trip To Jamaica

We loved our stay at Villa de la Sable, loved the Treasure Beach area and are very glad we chose it for our first visit to the island. The people in the Treasure Beach area are incredibly warm and welcoming. We did our research prior to choosing Treasure Beach. Many people we'd spoken to who had been to the more popular resort areas of Jamaica warned us of some of the downsides (crime, aggressive beach vendors mainly). Everything we read about Treasure Beach turned out to be true. We walked everywhere, day and night. We often had entire beaches to ourselves. The locals are so friendly. Probably not the perfect area for someone looking for a crazy party scene, the beach shack bars seemed to get pretty quiet early, which was fine with us, as we were usually wiped out from the day's activities. We did the YS Falls tour along with appleton Rum Factory. Sylvan was our driver and he was a blast. Rented scooters for a couple of days and toured around Treasure Beach, exploring all of the bays. Met so many interesting characters. I could go on and on. Rebecca was great, Petrina cooked awesome meals every day, the villa was even better than the pictures. We are already planning to revisit Treasure Beach, this time with our kids.see more
Doubloon Villa, large pool and sandy beach at heart of Treasure Beach
A Gem in Treasure Beach

The moment we walked into Doubloon and stood in the TV room overlooking the dining table out to the ocean, we knew this was going to be a wonderful home for a week. Hio greeted us at the door and we were pleasantly surprised when we toured the Villa and moved into our respective rooms. Our stay was like no other vacation. We were pampered by Hio and Robert took very good care of all of our other needs. The Villa is immaculate, the bedrooms spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The grand room overlooking the patio and the sea was more than comfortable for evenings and for visiting friends. Hio is a fabulous cook and we had a great variety in our meals with plenty of leftovers. We were always served our late morning smoothies from the left over fruit from breakfast, which was always a treat. The pool and thatch area became the focal point of our days. Either reading on the day beds, tanning on the lounges or swimming in the pool, this area great. Also where we had our breakfast served. Swims in the sea were a daily ritual as were walks on Calabash Bay discovering the area and meeting the locals. Sunrises and sunsets were gorgeous. All in all, Doubloon went well beyond our expectations. Rebecca and Debbian at Treasure Tours, Hio and Robert and the locals of Treasure Beach made our stay fabulous. We loved Doubloon Villa <3see more
