“The best the best the best” We traveled with our 4 children and my mother in law to Treasure Beach for the week. It was absolutely Phenomenal. It is perfectly situated On the beach with two magnificent beach coves 20 steps from the door. Our kids were able to run in and out easily all day. Absolutely highlight however is audrey's fantastic cooking. We made a menu with her for the week and every night after a heavenly day at the beach we were greeted with a traditional, home cooked Jamaica Feast. Book early because this house books up far in advance.

Lyric Villa - Treasure Beach, Jamaica, on the sea in the Heart of Treasure Beach

Treasure Beach villa

4 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 7

“Idyllic view and house!” Stayed here with 3 other women...work friends. All loved the comfort of 4 bedrooms, the wonderful cook Polly and helper Treece, every meal was superb! Especially appreciated the conversations with locals, our drivers, and house staff. Recommend boat trip up Black River, YS Falls, strolling the village. Treasure Beach is a long way from the busy tourist areas, but we felt like we saw real Jamaica. No glitches at all in arrangements and mostly due to Rebecca's excellent standards for our comfort! It costs us twice as much to eat at home than at Lyric with cooks! Now, how to get rid of the Pina Colada habit?!

“Paradise” it was my 8th time in Treasure Beach, First time in Villa de l'Ocean. Great rental, one of the best in TB. Spacious villa, lush surroundings, great swimming pool, even if there are guests staying at another villa, the territory is big enough to enjoy privacy. Ideal for two couples. Tonarge is a great cook and a wonderful person. Rebeca and Debbian from Treasure Tours are very accommodating. Missed you already! Definitely would love come back!

“The best of everything!” Arriving in Treasure Beach for the first time was amazing. The people are friendly and kind. Our villa was outstanding. Dining and sleeping over the waves. Daily swims in the freshwater pool maintained by Everton. Lounging in the hammocks. Toasting 14 sunsets followed by the wonderful dinners prepared by Shantel. True, deep relaxation. To say it was difficult to leave would be an understatement. Thank you Rebecca, Nickell and Debbian for your excellent care. We look forward to seeing you again...soon!

“Most amazing vacation and service I've ever had” There are so many wonderful things to say about this vacation its hard to consolidate it down :) The house is absolutely amazing. Each bedroom is special and unique and the outdoor living space is more than we could dream of. Hio and Nadine were our chefs and housekeepers and I couldn't say anything better about those two - they made the most delicious food, helped us with any favors or questions we had, and probably made too many trips to the grocery store (and liquor store!) than usual for us! Robert was awesome as the groundskeeper - as soon as it started raining (which probably lasted 5 minutes the entire trip) he would appear out of thin air to get the outdoor seat cushions out of the rain. We had such a great time and it was my husband and mine's first time bringing our friends - its a different kind of vacation, much more authentic and cultural than most are used to so we were a little nervous about how they would like it but everyone agreed - this vacation was amazing. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a more relaxing, private, and less touristy vacation spot.

Villa de la Sable located on the edge of the sea offering spectacular views

Treasure Beach house

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 4

“Perfect First Trip To Jamaica” We loved our stay at Villa de la Sable, loved the Treasure Beach area and are very glad we chose it for our first visit to the island. The people in the Treasure Beach area are incredibly warm and welcoming. We did our research prior to choosing Treasure Beach. Many people we'd spoken to who had been to the more popular resort areas of Jamaica warned us of some of the downsides (crime, aggressive beach vendors mainly). Everything we read about Treasure Beach turned out to be true. We walked everywhere, day and night. We often had entire beaches to ourselves. The locals are so friendly. Probably not the perfect area for someone looking for a crazy party scene, the beach shack bars seemed to get pretty quiet early, which was fine with us, as we were usually wiped out from the day's activities. We did the YS Falls tour along with appleton Rum Factory. Sylvan was our driver and he was a blast. Rented scooters for a couple of days and toured around Treasure Beach, exploring all of the bays. Met so many interesting characters. I could go on and on. Rebecca was great, Petrina cooked awesome meals every day, the villa was even better than the pictures. We are already planning to revisit Treasure Beach, this time with our kids.

“Fantastic Spot!!” This place is amazing, so remote and relaxed. Not a tourist in sight except for us. Angie (the cook/lady who does everything) and her family are really wonderful people, her cooking is delicious traditional Jamaican fare and so good. The water is warm and so close. I'll never forget falling asleep there to the sound of the sea.

“Our family of 10 with ages from 20 months to 70 years had a magi” Our family consisting of my husband and I, our two children, their spouses, and four children ages 20 months, 22 months, 3 years, and 6 years wanted a place to have a family reunion and to get a shot of sunshine in the middle of Winter. We could not have asked for a more perfect place for our reunion for all ages. The scenery was beautiful, the plantings inspiring, the rooms so comfortable, and the staff so welcoming and attentive. There was plenty of fun activities for everyone at our fingertips- a lovely veranda for reading and sunning, a 4 ft. lap pool where our 6 year old learned to swim and the other small ones could play, a lovely beach with a shallow area for swimming and plenty of sand for sand castle building, a tennis court perfect for beginners, even a croquet set, and a picturesque gazebo on the beach where there was always shade and a breeze. The climate was perfect with sunny and dry temperatures of about 85 every day. We loved the fact that we were actually in a fishing village and got to know some of the warm and friendly local people. There were lots of nearby trips to interesting areas which would have been fun to explore if our children were not so young. But our family just enjoyed staying right at Hikaru with only one trip into Treasure Beach and a hike up into the local mountains with Patrick who was part of the staff. The only challenging thing for us was the fact that it takes 2 1/2 hours to drive from Montego Bay over the mountains on two lane bumpy roads to Treasure Beach. We brought the kids car seats and fortunately hired the recommended Treasure Tours. Kevin was our driver and he was excellent having traveled these roads many times each week. This was a trip of a life time which our family will never forget. We hope to be able to return in the near future.

About Treasure Beach

Treasure Beach, Jamaica is not what you expect to come across on a Caribbean vacation. In essence, it is the real Jamaica. There aren't any gimmicky hotels or hustlers—it’s authentic in every way.

To book the perfect vacation rental, search here on FlipKey. There's no better way to start planning your trip.

About Treasure Beach

Found on Jamaica’s south coast, Treasure Beach is the name given to four coves—Great Bay, Billy’s Bay, Frenchman’s Bay and Calabash Bay.

Treasure Beach is, in fact, a string of sleepy fishing villages that practice sustainable local development through farming fishing and eco-tourism.

Legend has it that a ship full of Scottish sailors was shipwrecked in the area back in the 19th century, leaving behind a legacy of fair skinned, green-eyed locals with red hair. Whether true or not, the citizens of Treasure Beach have a strong community spirit and are fiercely proud of being Jamaican.

What you will not find in Treasure Beach is any resemblance to a resort and a distinct lack of para-sailing, jet skis and extravagant nightlife.

What you will find, however, is six miles of beautiful beaches lapped by warm tropical water where you can swim, body surf and just chill out.

What to do in Treasure Beach

As a place to escape the madding crowd, Treasure Beach is perfect. But when you feel like you want to go out and explore the area, you can do that too. Go horseback riding along the beach or into the interior to watch people go about their daily lives.

As far as day trips are concerned, you have lots of choices. One of the most popular tours is a trip to Dunn's River Falls near Ocho Rios. The 600-foot falls offer a refreshingly cool dip and make for excellent photographs and breathtaking scenery.

Visit the capital, Kingstown, to visit Bob Marley’s house and then the pirate haven of Port Royal known in the 17th century as the “wickedest city on earth” (Pirates of the Caribbean fans know what it's about!).

Other top tours include a trip to a Blue Mountain coffee plantation and a visit to Appleton’s Rum Distillery. Both are worth tearing yourself away from the beach for.

Top travel tips for Treasure Beach

There is never a bad time to visit Treasure Beach, but being in the Caribbean it's worth tracking Hurricanes during the summer months.

Jamaica has a cuisine all of its own that has developed by integrating many different cultures. Curried goat, fried plantains, salt cod and peas and rice will be on just about any menu. Don’t be put off by how a restaurant might look from the outside as the food could be spectacular.

No need to pack any formal wear as casual and comfortable are the fashion statements around Treasure beach.

If sitting on your veranda with a Red Stripe beer looking up at the stars and wondering about what a lot of nothing you will do tomorrow, then Treasure Beach is for you. To find the perfect rental property, visit FlipKey where they have dozens to choose from.

Lyric Villa - Treasure Beach, Jamaica, on the sea in the Heart of Treasure Beach
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!

Lyric exceeded ALL our expectations!!! This place is absolutely gorgeous!! We were pampered from the minute we were picked up at the airport until our very last breakfast the day we had to leave. Polly and Theresa spoiled us rotten with a delicious breakfast and dinner everyday. We ate like KINGS!!! They catered to our every need, including buying cases of Red Stripe for us and doing all the shopping. I never lifted a finger; it truly was the vacation of a lifetime!! Annabelle is just a delightful person and we truly wished we could have stayed forever. The layout of the house is beautiful and simple. The house is situated so that a breeze constantly blows through the entire home, and the rock flooring makes it a perfect beach front home. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking for the vacation of their dreams!! We were so blessed to find it and be able to share it with our teens. Needless to say, we will be back!!!see more

Our 3rd time at Shakti Home and it just keeps getting better. Lots of interesting upgrades since we were there last and the best parts the same, amazing home cooking by Audrey, and a view to die for with the peace and serenity we needed. You leave here a new person. McCarl, the caretaker at Shakti also helped to make sure any of our needs were met. Perfect place for doing nothing but relaxing!see more

Great Ocean Front Beach Villa with outstanding management and se

Perfect oceanfront vacation rental. Stayed april 14-20th, 2014 and loved it. Location is great, beautiful secluded beach just a few steps outside the front door. Paolo, the owner, lives next door and was awesome. Very nice and very helpful. He helped us fix a flat tire on our rental car and got a boat for us to go to the Pelican Bar. Monica, the cook, was fantastic. She's a great person, very fun, and her food was amazing. The house, bedrooms, bathrooms, and living area are all very nice. A great place, great beach, great house, and great people. I'd highly recommend it for any vacation.see more
Pelican's Reach
Absolute heaven!

My husband and I spent 5 days discovering the St Elizabeth area and believe that Great Bay is the very best place to be. Quiet, friendly fishing village that has beautiful beach and surf and little evidence of tourists. Our stay was too short and we definitely plan to return. The accommodations at Pelican Reach are clean and comfortable. Stop for groceries on the way from the airport and angie will cook for you. A very nice perk. She will also arrange transportation and tell you about the area. We felt very at home at Pelican Reach and are looking for dates when we can return. Thank you.see more

Fabulous Veranda

My husband and I recently spent a great week at Villa Du Soleil. The location is great and we loved the veranda - it is over the water and is a great place to sit and listen to the waves crash in, watch the sunset and have dinner. You can also get to the beach very easily by simply going down the stairs off of the sun porch. There are so many places to enjoy on the property - the pool, the beach, the sun porch, the hammocks, the veranda (we spent a lot of time on that veranda - day and night) -even if you never left the property you would not feel like you were sitting in the same place. Loved being able to keep the windows open at night, but there are air conditioners in the room if you are too warm or don't want to keep the windows open. Being from Michigan, we can't get enough fresh air in February. We rented bikes for a few days from Zeb at Jakes - there are lots of places to explore if you have a bike to get around and to get a little exercise to work off that great food. Shantel keeps the place very clean and is a marvelous cook (all the meals were great - coconut shrimp, lobster, lobster salad, brown stew fish, steamed fish, chicken, jerk pork, callaloo omelets) and we really enjoyed getting to know her. She kept us stocked up on all the fresh fruit we love too - could not get enough of the custard apple. Everton kept the pool very clean and the grounds looking nice. If we needed anything, Shantel or Everton would take care of it. We have been to Treasure Beach several times and we finally took a day trip to the Pelican Bar with Everton and Captain Terry - what a truly enjoyable day that was. Thank you to all at Treasure Tours for being so easy to work with from booking the villa, working with us when our flight was cancelled due to winter weather a few days before we were supposed to leave, and having wonderful drivers to get us to and from Treasure Beach. Thanks again for another truly wonderful vacation - we hope to see you all next year.see more
Doubloon Villa, large pool and sandy beach at heart of Treasure Beach
A Gem in Treasure Beach

The moment we walked into Doubloon and stood in the TV room overlooking the dining table out to the ocean, we knew this was going to be a wonderful home for a week. Hio greeted us at the door and we were pleasantly surprised when we toured the Villa and moved into our respective rooms. Our stay was like no other vacation. We were pampered by Hio and Robert took very good care of all of our other needs. The Villa is immaculate, the bedrooms spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The grand room overlooking the patio and the sea was more than comfortable for evenings and for visiting friends. Hio is a fabulous cook and we had a great variety in our meals with plenty of leftovers. We were always served our late morning smoothies from the left over fruit from breakfast, which was always a treat. The pool and thatch area became the focal point of our days. Either reading on the day beds, tanning on the lounges or swimming in the pool, this area great. Also where we had our breakfast served. Swims in the sea were a daily ritual as were walks on Calabash Bay discovering the area and meeting the locals. Sunrises and sunsets were gorgeous. All in all, Doubloon went well beyond our expectations. Rebecca and Debbian at Treasure Tours, Hio and Robert and the locals of Treasure Beach made our stay fabulous. We loved Doubloon Villa <3see more
