“Spectacular, Serene Sunrises - Fantastic House” We had a wonderful time at Water's Edge. The house was beautifully appointed and situated in one of the best spots in Nassau, directly on the ocean and overlooking the sea and other islands. A special moment every day is sunrise, as you can look out with a cup of coffee on the patio as the glowing sun seems to rise out of the ocean into the sky. The house has all the comforts of home with a well-stocked kitchen, plenty of games, and comfortable beds. The owner, Mark, is extremely helpful and always on hand for any help you need. Best vacation ever!

The Pink Sand Cottage "RIGHT ON THE BEACH" Wi Fi

North Palmetto Point cottage

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 2

“Week in paradise” First time to the island and the vacation was great especially with the accommodations at the Pink Sand Cottage. Perfect for the two of us and loved the views from inside and outside the house of nothing but beach and water. I'm not sure how it is other times of the year but almost every day we were the only ones on the beach. Maybe just timing but it felt as though we were the only ones on the island at times and having the peace and quiet was much needed. Thanks to Ken and adele for a great week and hope to be back soon! “Highly recommended” The apartment was really nice - better than the photos suggest. We were very very close to the beautiful beach, which we had pretty much to ourselves every day. The apartment was also really clean, very comfortable and very quiet. Joan, Hilton and Elsie were also incredibly hospitable - they even baked us a loaf of bread - and gave us great recommendations of where to eat and what to do. We traveled around Eleuthera quite a bit, but Rainbow Bay was still our favorite. Would absolutely stay there again.

“Perfect Getaway at the Kokomo” We rented the Kokomo Beach House in Casuarino Point for 9 days and was so totally impressed with the place that we felt like we were at home...everything you could possibly need or want was at the house. The house is beautifully decorated and the view from the front porch is priceless. We spent endless days and nights sitting on the porch enjoying a cocktail or two and just enjoying the view. The beach is a gorgeous white sand beach with turquoise waters to swim, paddle or boat on...walks on the beach in the early morning to the point to watch the sunrise were peaceful and beautiful...sunsets were watched right from our porch or out in front of the place on the beach...you get the best of both worlds from this location. Marsh Harbour is about 15 miles away, but this gives you the opportunity to pick up groceries, etc. while you are in town and enjoy grilling and making your meals back at the house. A very much needed fun relaxing trip was had by the 4 of us and highly recommend the renting of the Kokomo Beach House or one of Kathy's other 3 houses on Casuarino Point!

“A true get-a-way!” From the moment we landed, to the moment we left, George took care of every detail! If you are looking for a true get-a-way - this is the place. A busy day at the beach might include seeing 1 or 2 other people, otherwise you have every beach to your self! There is plenty to enjoy on the beach in from of Wymmsicalwish or take a drive, there are secluded beaches down every dirt road, each with their own unique personality. This was our second (of many more to come)visit to Whymmsical Wish. We have stayed there with our grown children and it has been throughly enjoyed by all.The guest house comfortably slept all 6 adults and we enjoyed breakfast every morning in the screened it porch. The fully equiped kitchen allowed us to make lunches and snacks to enjoy at the beach. We all were greatful for the wireless access to make sure that things were running well back at the office!

“Cute Little Home Away From Home!” This little Home Away From Home is awesome!! This 2 story house has amazing views from the balcony with the Atlantic Ocean in the background and the Surfer's Beach is about a 10min walk. On the top floor there is the bedroom and a bathroom, and the 1st floor has the kitchen/dining room and a bathroom with a shower(yes! 2 bathrooms! but only 1 with a shower/bath tub). The kitchen came in handy since eating at restaurants on Eleuthera can quickly empty your wallet(We averaged about $90 for dinners at restaurants!). Tom, the manager of the Surfer's Haven, is a super nice dude. He also runs Bahamas Out Island Adventure tour company, so if you wanna go on s guided tour of the the island, Tom's your guy! I would definitely book the A Frame House the next time I visit Eleuthera!

“A beautiful house to stay in” During my stay here,I was very comfortable,it felt like a home away from home as it had all the amenities and was fully furnished. It was a nice quiet place to stay, very peaceful. We all had good Internet connection and found the house to be clean and tidy to a high standard. Overall a 10/10 it made my trip that much nicer coming back after a day out to a beautiful house. I will be recommending this to any friends or family wanting to stay in Nassau.

“Peaceful, quiet vacation villa, with great access for snorkeling” When we first arrived at the villa, we were a little disappointed. There were issues with the plumbing, the clothes dryer didn't work, one AC unit squealed intermittently, and there were no paper towels as advertised. HOWEVER, after contacting Cathy, she did what she could to resolve most issues, sending out a plumber and a dryer repairman. She was extremely pleasant to work with, and made follow up calls to make sure everything was OK. The villa is nice, but could use some updating (i.e., some patio chairs were broken, bathrooms could be updated). Also, the housekeeper could be more attentive, especially outside where an ashtray was left overflowing and dirty plastic drink cups were left. The pool liner was dirty, and it was suggested to the owner that an automatic pool vac might help with this. If these issues were addressed, I would raise my rating to excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the back terrace, in spite of the above issues. The kids enjoyed coming back at the end of the day and snorkeling out back more than anywhere else. They found queen conch, starfish, crabs, stingrays, and a variety of shells and fish. This became our favorite place to hang out in the evening. You will need to rent a car if you stay here. We rented a van through Avis, which worked out great. Driving here can be a little crazy, but you will quickly adjust unless you happen to be a nervous driver. There is a Super Value food store near the villa, but we found food to be so expensive there that we ate out most of the time (I researched inexpensive restaurants on Trip Advisor prior to our trip--very helpful!). We also ordered pizza from Marco's, delivered to the villa. It was very good and no more expensive than in the U.S. For excursions, I recommend Flying Cloud sail & snorkel to Rose Island, and a trip to Blue Lagoon to swim with the Dolphins (expensive, but worth it!). Paradise Ocean Sports has a good package deal, but ONLY if there aren't many passengers as they promise more than they can deliver in the time allotted. Check out all the beaches if you have time as each has something different to offer. I realize none of this is related to the villa, but hopefully the information will be helpful to some of you. We will likely never return to New Providence as we prefer to explore a variety of islands. However, if we should change our minds, we would stay at this villa again.

“Lovely vacation home!” My husband and I just had the most romantic, secluded, perfectly relaxing vacation while renting the Palmetto Sunrise Villa in Eleuthera this May 2013. The location was great for visiting Governor's Harbor, and a short 10-15 minute drive to several great places to eat (we ate out often at Tippy's and The Beachhouse). The homeowners have been friendly and helpful in every way possible to assist with our planning of activities, from flights into the island to exploring the beaches. We were most impressed with the large notebook made for guests and used the information in it every day. The book has detailed directions for finding one's way to the special beaches of Eleuthera (photos of landmarks along the way included), and up-to-date notes on who to talk to for scheduling tours, and recent details on local restaurants. The Palmetto Sunrise Villa is luxuriously furnished, completely well-equipped and decorated in a lovely manner with many tropical paintings and sea-motif arrangements of shells and sea fan. Everything was top notch and meticulously maintained. It is readily evident that the homeowners care deeply about keeping their villa in top condition and it is heartwarming that they are so open to sharing this beautiful island and its many special attractions with guests who are fortunate enough to choose to rent the Palmetto Sunrise for a vacation. One of our favorite activities was viewing the incredibly starry night skies. We also enjoyed daily walks both on the roads and along the beaches in both directions from the house. The breeze off the atlantic was always cool and refreshing. We walked to the nearest restaurant, at the Unique Resort and enjoyed having drinks there. They have a beautiful beach and great views from the restaurant. The best thing about our stay in Eleuthera was the harmony with nature, warm climate, friendly people, clear water and escape from crowded civilization to a much more leisurely pace.

About Bahamas

The Bahamas archipelago consists of more than 2,000 individual islands and cays. This diverse and welcoming Caribbean country offers rich ecological diversity, stunning natural beauty, and of course, beautiful beaches. Interestingly, much of the country's land surface, specifically its areas of distinctive pink sand, is made up of the tops of coral reefs that formed tens of thousands of years ago.

Some of the most popular destinations within the Bahamas include:

  • Grand Bahama: If you're here for ecotourism, you'll spend most of your time on unspoiled, pristine Grand Bahama. Botanical gardens, underwater limestone caves, and a network of national parks are just a few of the dazzling attractions you'll find here.
  • Paradise Island: If you're coming for a Bahamas wedding or a Bahamas honeymoon, you'll find out just how accurately named this corner of the country is.
  • Bimini: The stuff of legend, Bimini is said to have everything from magical waters with astounding healing properties and the Fountain of Youth to the ruins of Atlantis.
  • Nassau: Located on New Providence Island, the country's colorful capital offers outstanding dining, world-class shopping, and adventurous nightlife. It is also where most of the action is during their festival season.
  • The Abacos: These islands lie just east of Grand Bahama, and are perfect for those seeking to get away from the thick crowds and relax in the open air and sunshine.

If you want to take part in a uniquely Bahamian cultural experience, time your visit to coincide with the nation's biggest festival, the Junkanoo. It is held annually on Boxing Day, December 26, and continues on New Year's Day.

Whether you're coming with your spouse or partner, bringing the family along or touring the Bahamas with a group of friends, staying in a vacation rental is ideal for your accommodations. From beachfront villas to spacious condos, vacation rentals offer all the amenities and comforts of home and more privacy than you'll get at a hotel.

If you want to go on to other sun-soaked destinations, the Bahamas are very close to Bermuda, Puerto Rico, and the Florida Keys.

Absolutely Stunning Views In a Great Location!

This was our first trip to the Bahamas. With all the islands to stay, we really wanted to experience the waters of the Exhumas. This home had the most majestical views. Everyday we were there, we could not stop looking out the window because of the views. The home itself was fabulously maintained. Everything was in working condition, the A/C kept the house cold, and had all the amenities needed to stay there living like a local. Charlie (the owner) is the nicest person ever and was such a great host. The house had kayaks readily available, parking, hammock, outdoor dining area, private beach, and even coconuts. At the end of our trip, he mentioned the first time we visit as guests and after that as family. We certainly can't wait to go back and stay there. Thank you!see more

Great Private Home with Breathtaking Views!

I rented Dave's home during the MLK long weekend with 12 friends and a baby. It was our first time to the Bahamas and did not disappoint! TEAM/STAFF Diane (and Martina) were amazing prior and during the trip - answers the numerous questions I had. Diane in particular was available 24/7 - professional, warm, friendly and super helpful! Hilton, Travis and team were also amazing! As the property is outside of the downtown area, taxis were required to get to around. Hilton and his team were warm, personable and willing to meet us and help with anything ... from the minute we landed in Nassau, to stopping at a liquor store en route, grocery spree style shopping, the 445AM pick up for our race, to rescuing our large group in a freak deluge, and of course - finding a place that took 12 people for the Patriots game! I cannot recommend him enough! HOUSE While not like some of the mansions in the vicinity, coming on property immediately made us happy ... the Bahamian bright yellow villa and cottage with the amazing cerulean blue/green ocean view and palm trees ... we knew we were home. The villa (bigger of the 2 houses) was our primary hang out spot - spacious and well appointed. The main area is open space between the kitchen, dining room and living room with many French doors that opened out to a large porch facing the best ocean views, sunrise and sunsets and breezes (and walk down to a small private beach and waters). We had many a meal, drinks, birthday celebration and late night dance party :) The houses were also large enough that people could retreat for privacy. All bedrooms in both houses had good to large bedrooms with comfy beds ... and could not beat the soothing sounds of the ocean. The one note is that the cottage (smaller of the 2 homes) is not the same quality as the villa ... but still comfortable and lovely. But all in all - the property was amazing! We even attempted to open coconuts!!!!! LOCATION The location is a bit remote, but we also did not realize how sprawling New Providence was. That said, it was still a fantastic location - you could not beat the views and quiet. And while we did take a lot of taxis (airport, downtown, Cable Beach, Paradise Island) it was not far from eateries and a grocery store (walking distance). Our group thoroughly loved being here ... its a great location, especially for large groups. We did not want to leave this slice of paradise and cannot wait to return someday hopefully soon! Thank you Dave, Denise, Martina, Hilton and Travis for an absolutely amazing experience and trip!!!!see more

Ideal apartment in the ideal location

For our first trip to Eleuthera we had the good fortune to choose Hilton and Elsie's place in Rainbow Bay. Hilton and Elsie are very gracious hosts and the apartment is ideally located in the middle of the island, so anywhere on the island is reachable without an unreasonable drive. The apartment itself was very clean and well appointed. No surprises and no major issues. The tv didn't work and the internet was spotty, but, like everything else in Eleuthera it just takes a little patience. Some recommendations for future visitors: 1. Avoid Rainbow Inn (unless you like waiting a long time for average food and then paying way too much for it) 2. You'll need more drinking water than you think. Buy gallon jugs of water and not bottles. 3. If visiting the Hatchet Bay cave, hire a guide for the best experience. 4. Take a device (phone or computer) that has internet access to find your way around. There are no road names or addresses, so there are no maps or Garmins or anything. 5. If snorkeling, take your own gear. There isn't any at the apartment and we didn't see anywhere to rent it or buy it. Overall, a great experience for our first trip. We definitely plan to return!see more

Lovely house by the sea

We loved staying at Serenity House, it’s very well appointed and the location is stellar! Comfortable beds and lovely decor made it a welcoming place to return to after exploring some beaches. Luxury 5-Star Oceanfront Villa, Harbour Island Bahamas
A place to dream, to enjoy and to help us to retrieve the inner peace within us!

This is an untouched place, a paradise that took us to an incredible pink sandy beach, light blue ocean... A secret oasis in The Bahamas! The design of the house is amazing with details perfectly selected to fit with the natural beauty of this magical environment. The modern beauty and elegance of this villa surpassed our needs and expectations. We were impressed by the hospitality, and attention to detail we received by the entire staff. 5 Stars overall rating: Perfect score to the Palmeraie of Harbor island. We made a promise to come back again soon!see more

Perfect relaxation

Prefect getaway in a very relaxing& quite neighborhood, I do recommend renting a car to get around there's a convenient store at the end of the corner we frequently visited.
