Our Stanhope Cottages has kept a historical record of full bookings for consecutive 5 years since 2011. Situated just outside the entrance to the National Park, we are far enough away from the main traffic area to provide our guests with the privacy and relaxation they deserve, yet we are still only a 5 minute walk to white sandy beaches! Also, we have newly installed air conditioners against global warming.

Aside from free access to the provincial parks, we generously offer a free pass to enter any National Parks and Beaches on the whole island for unlimited access. We also provide free bicycles for guests' convenience.

Stanhope Cottages is a Quality Incentive Program property which exemplifies our high standards of cleanliness and state of repair, both of which our visitors have come to expect. We offer a variety of accommodations at the three-star rating ranging from a 1-bedroom cottage to a 4-bedroom cottage. We've also been awarded Canada Select's coveted four-star rating on our new three-bedroom luxury cottages.

Whether you want to swim, boat, cycle, fish, golf, or simply relax, Prince Edward Island offers a variety of activities to make your gentle island vacation a dream come true. You can enjoy deep sea fishing, windsurfing, swimming, cycling, bird watching, kayaking, and fine dining, all within 5 minutes of your cottage. There are lots of things to see and do in Stanhope.

Stanhope Cape Beach and Covehead Bay are both conveniently located just a 5 minute stroll from Stanhope Cottages. Stanhope Cape Beach is one of many National Park Beaches located on the beautiful north shore of PEI. Enjoy a morning walk, build a sand castle, picnic, swim, or just relax in the hot summer sun. Complete your day by visiting Covehead Harbour where you can enjoy a sumptuous meal of seafood in Richard's fully licensed restaurant overlooking the Covehead Bay or purchase live or cooked seafood to enjoy in the comfort of your cottage. You can enjoy a morning walk along the white sandy beach, the red soil on the Covehead Bay or along the newly constructed promenade which borders the Covehead Bay from the National Park to the Stanhope Golf and Country Club.

Of course, no vacation on PEI is complete without a deep sea charter from the Covehead Harbor and the spectacular view of the sun setting over the water and the dunes. Both Richard's Deep Sea Fishing and Salty Seas Deep Sea Fishing are located at the harbor in the National Park. Relax and enjoy the sun and water on a charter, tour, or cruise, and catch your own dinner! Experience the thrill of deep sea fishing or take an interpretive tour to learn about aquaculture or the history of the North Shore. Also, it is only 5 minutes drive from our cottage to get to a large Stanhope Golf and Country Club to ensure you have a great golf vacation in PEI. In addition, there are several restaurants or sea foods available around our cottages.


Our coin operated Laundromat is conveniently located for use by our customers. An iron and ironing board are available at office . Tide detergent and fabric softener bounce are available for purchase at the office.

“A quiet place to get away”

The apartment type accomodations are very clean. They offer everything you could need for a quiet vacation: kitchen with stove, microwave, full fridge, cable TV (just in case you are stuck inside due to rain), private deck with picnic tables, chairs and gas grill. The owners are very friendly and go out of their way to help make your stay memorable. The beach is only a 5 minute walk away. The Stanhope area offers plenty of beaches to walk on and paved trails to walk/bike. If you enjoy the outdoors (we happen to be birders), this is a great place to take in the sights and sounds of the ocean.

I had stayed in these same cottages last summer, and was pleased with their cleanliness and accessibility to the beach, so felt comfortable booking another stay there this year, as although they are under different management, thought I knew what to expect. We received so much more. We were a group of 5 adults, and one of our party is in poor health and rather frail. The owners went well out of their way to be helpful, gracious, and kind. It was a generosity of spirit that was so nurturing to our group, and we were very grateful for this unexpected kindness.

We've stayed at these these cottages for 6 years now. We love the location--a short stroll down a shady, red dirt road to the beach, yet just a 20 minute drive to the bright lights of Charlottetown. The Jays are like family and I suspect we'll be back next year.

After a family wedding in New Brunswick, my wife and I joined family members for a week at Stanhope Cottages. Our two-bedroom cottage was extremely clean and included all the kitchen and other essentials. Susie and Mervin were wonderful hosts and helped to make our stay memorable (notwithstanding the worst summer Susie said she had seen in their 16 years at the property.) I would definitely recommend this as a great location and comfortable lodgings.

The cottages are clean and include all necessary appliances. Full house keeping unit;all you need to add is your own food. Courteous owners to answer your needs. Good living space but beds are small and one was not very comfortable. The sofa bed could use a firmer mattress. The location is the best: everything is 5 min away: walk to the beach, drive to the golf course as well as a beautiful walking/cycling path. If you prefer a beach with amenities, only 5 minute drive from the cottage. Fresh fish at the harbor is in walking distance and all the beach you need. This cottage offers a good size patio with BBQ - large grounds well maintained. This was our 2nd visit and would definitely go back and recommend to friends. Very safe and friendly.

This was our first time staying at Stanhope Cottages, but our third time to PEI. The cottage was very clean, fully stocked (minus food) and very comfortable. Bbq and utensils were also supplied. The staff was excellent and very helpful. The road leading to the cottage is not the easiest to find, but the directions we received were perfect and we had no trouble finding it. Also the information on the grocery, banking and liqour stores was also very helpful as there is no corner store nearby, but a great restaurant not too far. If we plan on returning to PEI I would not hesitate to stay at Stanhope Cottages.
