Our Stanhope Cottages has kept a historical record of full bookings for consecutive 5 years since 2011. Situated just outside the entrance to the National Park, we are far enough away from the main traffic area to provide our guests with the privacy and relaxation they deserve, yet we are still only a 5 minute walk to white sandy beaches! Also, we have newly installed air conditioners against global warming. Aside from free access to the provincial parks, we generously offer a free pass to enter any National Parks and Beaches on the whole island for unlimited access. We also provide free bicycles for guests' convenience.
Stanhope Cottages is a Quality Incentive Program property which exemplifies our high standards of cleanliness and state of repair, both of which our visitors have come to expect. We offer a variety of accommodations at the three-star rating ranging from a 1-bedroom cottage to a 4-bedroom cottage. We've also been awarded Canada Select's coveted four-star rating on our new three-bedroom luxury cottages.
Whether you want to swim, boat, cycle, fish, golf, or simply relax, Prince Edward Island offers a variety of activities to make your gentle island vacation a dream come true. You can enjoy deep sea fishing, windsurfing, swimming, cycling, bird watching, kayaking, and fine dining, all within 5 minutes of your cottage. There are lots of things to see and do in Stanhope.
Stanhope Cape Beach and Covehead Bay are both conveniently located just a 5 minute stroll from Stanhope Cottages. Stanhope Cape Beach is one of many National Park Beaches located on the beautiful north shore of PEI. Enjoy a morning walk, build a sand castle, picnic, swim, or just relax in the hot summer sun. Complete your day by visiting Covehead Harbour where you can enjoy a sumptuous meal of seafood in Richard's fully licensed restaurant overlooking the Covehead Bay or purchase live or cooked seafood to enjoy in the comfort of your cottage. You can enjoy a morning walk along the white sandy beach, the red soil on the Covehead Bay or along the newly constructed promenade which borders the Covehead Bay from the National Park to the Stanhope Golf and Country Club.
Of course, no vacation on PEI is complete without a deep sea charter from the Covehead Harbour and the spectacular view of the sun setting over the water and the dunes. Both Richard's Deep Sea Fishing and Salty Seas Deep Sea Fishing are located at the harbor in the National Park. Relax and enjoy the sun and water on a charter, tour, or cruise, and catch your own dinner! Experience the thrill of deep sea fishing or take an interpretive tour to learn about aquaculture or the history of the North Shore. Also, it is only 5 minutes drive from our cottage to get to a large Stanhope Golf and Country Club to ensure you have a great golf vacation in PEI. In addition, there are several restaurants or sea foods available around our cottages.
Our coin operated Laundromat is conveniently located for use by our customers. An iron and ironing board are available at office . Tide detergent and fabric softener bounce are available for purchase at the office.

“Lovely Family Gathering”
We had a wonderful family time together. My Mom, daughter & family and sister and family all went together. This location served as a central spot for everyone to do what they wanted. It was a quite and relaxing spot for young and old alike. Everyone had a great time and the weather was perfect.
“A great place for a family vacation.”
Our large extended family had a wonderful time at Stanhope Cottages. Our cottage was very clean and equipped with everything we needed and more. Susie was very accomodating and gave us great advice for local dining. The setting was quiet and an easy walk to the beach. Altogether, we were very happy with our stay.
“Friendly atmosphere, comfortable lodging.”
This cottage was perfect for my family with two little children plus my mother. Everything you need is right there and if there's something you forgot, just ask! The owners were always available if you needed anything. It is centally located in PEI and Charlottown is 15 min away. I had to go into town frequently and it never felt too far away. The most amazing beach is a 5 min walk and Suzy even let me borrow their wagon for the week for the kids. It's a provincial park beach so it's well maintained but wasn't too busy. We also made day trips to Cavendish, North Rustico and Brackley beaches. All have a different feel you just have to see. Right outside the cottage is a lovely playground/sandbox full of toys that kept the kids amused for hours. Inside was clean and stocked with everything you'd need to live. We even got lobster one night and everything was there that you need to cook/eat it. Yumm! I was sad to leave and would definately go back the next time I'm visiting this amazing island!
“Great Golf Location”
We were four male golfers who enjoyed a private 4 bedroom and 2 bath cottage in the heart of Stanhoppe. Fully equiped kitchen and BBQ. Well located within 30 minutes to the most popular golf courses on PEI. I recommend this cottage with full confidence that you will be completely satisfied with the facilities and location.
“Great Week on the beach”
The service was excellent, owners go out of their way to make your stay convenient. The cottage is a great size, we had 6 people staying and there was lots of room. Being within walking distance of Stanhope Beach was nice, we went for a walk on the beach every night. There was a laundromat on site and lots of room to park close to the cottage. Very quiet area and you're only 20 minutes from a major shopping area in Charlottetown. Great place, would definitely stay again.
“Won't stay anywhere else...”
This is our second visit to this establishment and we would highly recommend this to other families. The four bedroom cottage was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed. It was nice to go to cottage and not have to bring linens and utensils with you, everything was provided. Eight of us, 4 adults and 4 children lived very comfortably for a week in the cottage. The grounds are kept up and there was a play area for the children to relax at while we Bbq'd on the deck and watched. The cottages give you the feel of peacefulness when you sit on the deck and listen to the ocean that is only a 3-4 min walk away. Also the convience of where they are located is great...20 mins to Charlottetown, 4 mins to Richard's for supper and an ice cream, who could ask for anything better. Thumbs up to the Jays who own the cottages. We will return again and again.
