“Highly Recommeded”

Reviewed 18 Oct 2013

We stayed in one of Nikolas apartments for a week in October. Nikola was very friendly and informative and left his contact details with us should we have needed to contact him during our stay. The apartments are accessed via a their own entrance hallway. The apartment itself was clean, modern, spacious and private. I could not find any fault and I would not hesitate to recommend Nikolas apartments to anybody. I was happy we chose to stay in Lapad as there were a variety of shops, restaurants, supermarket, beach and even a cinema all within a short walking distance of the apartment, and Dubrovnik old town was a short bus trip away (and the bus stops were very close to the apartment).

Response from the owner Dear Sarah & Andrew, Thank you so much for your kind review - it is truly appreciated. We are so glad you stayed with us. It makes us so happy that you enjoyed your stay and that you would recommend us. Hope you will return soon for another great holiday. Regards, Nikola Cvjetkovic

“Very good experience”

Reviewed 20 Sep 2013

We stayed at these apartments late august/early September 2013. Our apartment was spotlessly clean, and contained everything we might need for our stay (including a very well-equipped kitchen). Nikola was also a very helpful host - in particular, in providing us with a cot bed for our son. The apartment is in a good location, with several shops and cafes nearby, and it is very easy to reach the old town by bus. Highly recommended.

Response from the owner Dear Guests, Thank you for staying with us recently and for taking the time to write a review following your experience. We were pleased to read that you were happy with you stay and thank you for your lovely comments with regards to me, apartment and the location. We hope you will return soon for another peaceful and relaxing stay. With kind regards, Nikola Cvjetkovic www.dubrovnikluxuryapartments.yolasite.com

“Outstanding!”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2013

Nikola was an excellent, attentive and very courteous host. He helped us with exchange rates, sightseeing, restaurants and local history. Anything we wanted to know we could ask and we were sure of a friendly and helpful reply. We were so impressed by the photos of the apartments that we were prepared to move mid holiday just to stay in them. We were not disappointed! Both apartments were recently fitted out with the best of equipment. The larger of the two even had a washing machine. We made calls home for free on the free wi-fi which was great. Dubrovnik has a lot to offer and Nilola's apartments are ideally situated to take advantage of this. The bus stop on one of the main routes linking the peninsula with the old town is right outside the door. The beach, which was five minute's brisk walk away, was pebbled but absolutely spotless with warm clear seas ideal for swimming and snorkelling. Local restaurants were good but with little variation. The quality of the seafood however was excellent. Restaurants in the old town were expensive but well worth it for the atmosphere. The island boat trip is worth going on at £60 for two including drinks and a very tasty barbequed lunch. Don't be fooled by the number of stalls selling these trips - they all seem to be run by the same company! In summary - absolutely loved Dubrovnik and would highly recommend Nikola's apartments. Many thanks Nikola for all you did for us! Ps Take advantage of Nikola's offer to pick you up from the airport as it is worth it for the advice and information you get during the drive and it doesn't cost much more than the public bus.

Response from the owner Dear David & Melanie, UK Thank you for your most complimentary review. I love what I do and am truly motivated when lovely guests like yourself write such nice things about me. Your mention of our apartments amenities and location is specially appreciated, It really looks that we are located on a perfect location in a superb part of Dubrovnik. Thank you again for rewarding us with 5 stars and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. With kind regards,

“Spacious and modern with a great host!”

We stayed in the Dream apartment for the last 2 wks in august, Nikola was extremely helpful from the first contact, he responded quickly to all emails and also arranged for a car to collect us from the airport. On arrival Nikola helped with our cases and explained where everything was and how the aircon and water heater worked. He gave us some local info and had supplies various literature on things to do. The apartment itself was very clean, spacious and airy. The two shower rooms were a blessing as we could get ready for the evening a lot quicker, although we did have a few issues with the hot water being inconsistent, even when clicking on the water heater for extra. Sometimes it came through warm/cool then would suddenly get very hot. The bed was a king size and firm, we asked for extra pillows as the ones provided were quite flat and nothing was too much trouble for Nikola. We cooked a couple of times and both times the electricity tripped, Nikola thought we'd overloaded the system so if you want to cook, I suggest basic foods only as it cannot cope with using the oven and three rings. A nice touch was fresh figs and nectarines from Nikola's garden and some fresh juice. Another great piece if info was that the water is safe to drink as it is all spring water which comes from the mountains and it tasted lovely! The washing machine & dishwasher were also useful so if you want to pack light you really can, the shortest wash is less than an hour! There is a Tommys supermarket nearby bit also a Studenac which is near the cinema (v cheap movie tix), which is much better. Good value eats were Nemo Problemo pizza place up the road, cash only, Scala (get your 10% disc voucher from the lady on the promenade) and Buorno. Our best meal was at Casa, more expensive but amazing food. We also jumped on the bus to the restaurants between Lapad and Old Town which were great, buses every 15 mins. 10 mins from beach. 5 mins from Park Hotel for pool. Great place! :)

Response from the owner Dear Tracey, Thanks for your comments. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and the area. I am taking this opportunity to explain the reason for overload the electrical system in your apartment. As the current exceeds the fuse's limits, it blows thereby disconnecting the load from the source. This method is most commonly used for protecting the house-hold mains. Furthermore, according to rules, the houses are restricted with regard to electric power, and imitators must be used compulsory. More than 90% of all houses in this town are restricted between 4,4 and 5,5 KWH. Although my house is new and has much more power available, it is impossible to keep all equipment on in the same time. Four glasses induction infrared hotplates if turned on in the same time need 6200W and Owen itself 2000W. If we know, that 3500W Aircond was working + 2000W big water boiler and maybe some other equipment (washing machine, dish washer, etc.) it is evident that so considerable consumption is impossible. I am so sorry that you had this problem, but to be honest I have never faced this kind of problem from the very beginning. Please accept my apologies for the problems with inconsistent hot water being caused by turning the boiler switch off in the next door apartment. There is a possibility to separate each apartment's hot-water boiler but in that situation, there wouldn't be 700 liters of hot water available what may be very useful for big family-like yours. I hope that we will have a chance sometime in future to raise our score with you to 5/5 and would be delighted to have you in our apartments on some other occasion. Until then, we remain. Sincerely, Nikola Cvjetkovic

“A gentlemen and his castle”

We appreciated the location of this apartment: not too close to the center (but you can reach in 10 minutes by bus) and not too far, easy to find, close to the beach...we found the apartment very clean, quite, and well equipped. it is very spacious, and two bathrooms are much better than one :) Moreover, Nikola is a person rare to find: a gentleman who takes care of his guests. I suggest strongly this apartment.

Response from the owner Dear Massimo&Sabrina, Thank you very much for your kind feedback regarding your stay at Dubrovnik Luxury Apartments and the time to write this nice review. I thank you for highlighting advantages of the apartments with regard to the location, description of the apartment and kind words about my hospitality. I hope to have the pleasure to welcome you back to my apartments on your next visit to Dubrovnik. Sincerely yours, Nikola Cvjetkovic

“Wonderful apartment”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2013

This apartment was excellent. We were met by Nikola, the owner who really couldn't do enough to help (this was the case from me booking with him from the start,re;payment and assistance via email). He walked us round the apartment and explained everything about the well laid out accommodation that had been decorated to a really high specification. very modern and well thought out. He also gave us loads of info on the surrounding area and things to do aswell as arranging a transfer back to the airport. This apartment (Whisper) was a mezzanine, with the bedroom and en suite up high. Our daughter slept downstairs on the sofabed and also had another bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked and a recent problem with the fridge had been attended to by Nikola. The balcony was great..big and plenty of space for eating out doors with views of surrounding Lapad and the sea (as did the bedroom) The apartment was on the top floor,so 2 flights of steps to get up,and also on the main road with easy access to the beach and nearby Hotel Park (we used their pool quite a bit). The road wasn't that noisy but the great thing was that the buses into Dubrovnik were within 50 metres and on the return dropped off right outside the apartment Lapad is a typical holiday area (although there did seem to be a thriving local community) with a great supermarket nearby and pedestrianised street, with restaurants and bars..great on a night time (although not too commercialised and family orientated) and easy to get to via the alleyway by the side of the apartment. We have a great holiday, made all the better by Nikola and his lovely apartment well recommended.

Response from the owner Dear Guests, Thank you for your sincere and detailed review. It is nice to hear that our guests had a lovely holiday, especially if they liked accommodation and the host. The apartment is in a fabulous location, and our apartments are indeed far better than staying in a hotel! We welcome back all guests with a 5% loyalty discount, so please do visit us again if back in Dubrovnik. Regards, Nikola at www.dubrovnikluxuryapartments.yolasite.com
