Very Good

“Excellent location, quiet and restful house.”

Reviewed 17 Jul 2015

Nikolai cottage was perfect for our family of five including three older sons. We loved not being on he main thoroughfare of the village, and yet close enough to the beaches, tavernas and bakery for regular visits arch day. The house is private, well-equipped for self catering and comfortable. Spiros's mother Soula met us at the house and touched base daily to check on our needs. Loggos is a beautiful village, and there is more than enough to keep everyone happy for an extended break.

“Excellent value, quiet, great location, well-maintained, garden a big plus”

Reviewed 21 Sep 2014

Our family of four have been coming to Paxos for many years, and Loggos is our favourite village - pretty and small but lots of good places to eat. We took a gamble booking Nikolaki stone cottage on the internet, hoping it would be as close to the village and beaches as promised. We had a wonderful two weeks there. If you want a shiny, modern villa with a pool and a view of the sea, this isn't for you. It's a handsome, clean, nicely-maintained old stone house in an olive grove, about an 8 minute walk from town, a 5 minute walk from a good stone beach, and has a wonderful small paved garden/patio where we ate breakfast every day, played cards, dined quite often. Excellent value. The owner's mother takes good care of it, and is a friendly but unobtrusive presence. Our children are 10 and 11, and loved it. Teenagers might grumble about the lack of wifi. Toddlers would need watching on the main stairs and 1st floor landing.

“Peace, silence, sea”

You'll never be disappointed by Paxos. Marmari beach is one of the cleanest shores in the island. Nikolaki Cottage is very peaceful, perfect for families. All was very good, Spyros and his mother Soula made our stay very relaxing. I do reccomend it to everyone.

“A Real Gem!”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2014

I can honestly say this was one of the best holidays we've ever had. We were 2 families with 2 teenagers and we all loved it. The cottage was really lovely, tastefully decorated and more like a real home than a rental villa. It was spotlessly clean and we were really looked after by Soula (Spiros's Mum) who was lovely. The cottage has thick old stone walls which kept it fairly cool and there is an air conditioning unit upstairs which kept the bedrooms cool at night so we were never too hot. We had everything we needed at the cottage. As other people have mentioned, there are mosquitos but the cottage has mosquito nets on every window so you can have all the windows open with no problem. As long as you use insect repellent its fine. The upside is that we didn't see a single wasp during the whole 10 days we were there!!! Also, Soula provided mosquito candles for the outside area which worked well. The garden is really lovely, a big patio surrounded by Olive trees so its really private. The garden had banana trees and lots of pots planted with lovely flowers and herbs and its all tucked away down a little footpath. There are butterflies and the odd tiny lizard and there is plenty of outdoor seating, a large table and shade to sit and enjoy meals in the beautiful surroundings. Just a 5 minute walk from the cottage through the Olive Grove is one of the loveliest beaches on the island, Marmari, with crystal clear waters and plenty of shade from the Olive trees, beautiful. There is also another beach with a Taverna within a 5 minute walk, Levrechio. A short walk from the cottage through the Olive groves and past the beaches bring you to the lovely harbour town of Loggos. We visited Gaios and Lakka which were bigger than Loggos but we felt Loggos was the best of them all. Its a really pretty little place with lots of lovely places to eat, a fantastic bakery, plenty of places to sit by the water for a drink and about 3 small supermarkets that provide everything you need and they even deliver your food to the villa with no charge! The food on the island was excellent, not expensive, always beautifully fresh and served with a smile. We ate at various places but Soulas sons Taverna, Tollis, was definitely the best and they really looked after us there. We didn't hire a car and didn't miss it. We used a Taxi firm recommended by Spiros and the local buses which was were fine and cheaper! There is plenty to do and see on Paxos, we highly recommend a trip to the tiny Island of Anti Paxos which was truly like being paradise and also hiring a little boat for the day to go round Paxos and see all the little coves and swim in the turquoise waters. Spiros was excellent at answering all our emails and questions before the holiday and all in all it was the perfect holiday for us. A beautiful, friendly, safe and unspoilt Island and we will definitely be returning to Nikolaki Stone Cottage again and again!

“Vraiment très agréable!”

Reviewed 6 Jul 2014

“Genuine home from home comfort but in a beautiful island”

The service was top rate in helping with transfers and arrival. The cottage was spacious and spotless. The gardens are secluded with many unusual plants which has been lovingly attended by Soula. There are excellent BBQ facilities in the garden and use of sun loungers. The secluded coves and tavernas are in a welcome staggering distance so no effort required. A short walk past a beach brings you to Loggos and warm bread from local bakery a must for breakfast. Eat at Taverna run by Soula's Son as it is the best by far and if lucky you may try some home made Krassis. We came back and recommended to friends who are booking right way before the season ends. Great find.

“Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings”

Reviewed 25 Jun 2013

We loved this cottage. There were only two of us so we had plenty of room. It is very private - down a little footpath by an olive grove, so you can sit outside without anybody overlooking. The cottage is basic but adequately equipped. Quiet beach a few minutes walk away, nice beach taverna on another beach very nearby, Loggos centre 10 minutes beyond the taverna. Owner's mum Soula popped by from time to rime, sometimes with little gifts of fruit etc. Loggos is a lovely little town, nice restaurants, small shops, boat hire etc. There are some lovely walks on the island - 'Paxos car tours and walks' published by 'Sunflower' recommended. Gaios is the ferry port and main town (and only place with cash machines) and worth a visit, also Lakka, small and intimate like Loggos. Car hire recommended although you could manage with buses.

“Wonderfull holiday”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2012

We went for a week in early October and the weather was perfect. A taxi driver met us at the ferry and Soula met us at the cottage. It had everything you would want and is beautifully furnished and extremely quiet and peaceful , yet ideally loacated for Loggos village and Marmarmi beach. We will definitely return.

“Hansel & Gretel Cottage”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2012

We spent two weeks in august in this cottage surrounded by olive trees and located very close to both Levrechio and Marmari beached and walking distance to Loggos. The cottage is very pretty, clean and nicely decorated inside. As there is no a/C in the house, only fans, it can get quite hot in the summer, and I would recommend lots of mosquitos repellents to enjoy the outdoor space!
