Widecombe Cottage at Lower Venton is a luxury cottage perfect for couples who enjoy countryside activities or looking for a romantic break in the heart of Dartmoor. A detached barn conversion, the cottage has been professionally designed and lovingly handcrafted using local oak finished to the highest standard, and stylishly furnished for your comfort.
The double bedroom features a handmade oak king-sized bed and a stylish en-suite bathroom with a double-ended roll-top bath. The cosy living room has a log burner and underfloor heating - perfect for a quiet night in watching a movie or listening to music. The kitchen is handmade in solid oak and granite and fully equipped with a 4-ring gas hob, double oven, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and washer/dryer and other essentials. We even offer a fully stocked wine rack with an honesty box arrangement for payment.
The underfloor heating and hot water are powered by a combination of solar power and gas - ensuring your comfort whatever the weather.
The south-facing sun terrace and garden with BBQ and dining area offer breathtakingly beautiful views over the surrounding pastureland and the open moor.
Visit us in autumn or winter and curl up for cosy evenings in front of the log burner - or enjoy year-round walks and sightseeing in the fabulous Dartmoor countryside. Any time of the year, Lower Venton is the place to enjoy Dartmoor!

Amazing cosy cottage in the most wonderful location. Nice little touches with local handmade soaps, delicious homemade lemon drizzle cake and a selection of wine to purchase!! Fabulous fresh eggs from owners hens were best I’ve ever tasted!! Very comfy bed and luxury bath made our break a real treat
