“Amazing place to stay”
Booked 2 cottages for a 3 night stay. Accommodation is brilliant, well set out, everything you need is there including home made cake, tea, coffee and sugar on arrival. Lovely fresh linen on the already made beds, crisp clean towels and everything pristine. Sally and family are lovely, nothing too much trouble, always around if you need them. Brilliant area for walkers, hikers and cyclist. Amazing views from all the cottages. Highly recommend.

“Cosy, immaculate cottage in a great location for countryside and cities”
We’re a family of 5, with grown up/ teenaged children plus a small dog. We spent a fantastic few days in this cosy, comfortable, warm cottage, where everything worked perfectly. Our dog could ha… More

“Base for cycling trips”
We booked here as it is superbly placed for access to the Trans Pennine Trail about a mile away on tracks. The Michaelmas cottage is a 2 bed, well equipped, clean accommodation. If you don't like the smell or noise of a working dairy farm don't complain if you book here. There is no private secluded outdoor area where you could have a BBQ, you have a table & chairs outside the cottage but it's in the farmyard. The owner is very pleasant and accommodating. Overall a nice place to stay if you like the idea of being in the middle of a working farm.

“very disappointing”
We booked this for a short stay while we visited the YSP and other favourite haunts in the area. The photo of the accommodation is misleading - it is, in fact, set in the heart of a working farm, surr… More

Response from the owner I’m very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at Lazy Daisys. Our cottages are as you say at the heart of a working farm, complete with “ Farmyard smells” The cottage you were in used to be the dairy and it’s a shame you felt you wanted the blinds shut as the views from the lounge are breath taking. Yes, the family do walk past the window and we don’t take days off even at weekends so work still goes on. We have addressed the drain problem, thanks for pointing it out. Country life often means septic tanks which do get blocked from time to time but soon get unblocked if we are told about the problem. Now onto the Flag of our country. The week you stayed was St George’s day! I was so excited to fly OUR flag on my new flag pole. I also have a Yorkshire flag and a Union Jack. I will continue to fly the fag of our homeland because we are proud of our produce, proud of our countryside and proud to be British. It is NOT a political statement.

“Just what we needed”
We really enjoyed our four night stay in moonpenny cottage. It was beautifully cosy and warm, well-equipped and comfortable. It was amazing scenery, truly beautiful, and we loved being able to walk from the farm across the fields with our dogs to enjoy the langsett reservoir walks. There was so much to see in the area we ran out of time and could easily have spent over a week there (and still not done everything we wanted to). Our dogs loved the walks, and the shared patio was useful for them as it was enclosed with an attractive, strong fence. All in all, a great break in a super location that even managed to motivate our boys to put down their phones and enjoy family time in the perfect location. We will go back again hopefully.

Response from the owner Thanks Elizabeth for your lovely comments. So sorry I wasn’t there to welcome you. If you do come again I promise to show you around the farm. April is a great time as we have lambs, calves and sometimes chickens. Got to admit we are touring New Zealand at the moment and keep saying it’s “ nearly” as lovely as home!

Response from the owner So sorry that we did not point you to the Laundry room which has a washer and dryer. Maybe another stair gate would be useful thanks for pointing it out. Wifi is a big problem even for us at the moment and we are moving over to fibre broadband this coming weekend so hopefully that problem will be resolved
