Very Good

“Words do not do justice to the superlative view.”

We have recently returned from a fabulous stay in a Villa Clara. The setting is unsurpassable. The villa is just steps away from the most atmospheric French village of St Jeannet. So that meant fresh croissants and pain chocolate every morning with steaming hot coffee while sitting out on the terrace overlooking the hill towns of St Paul de Vence down across to Nice, over to antibes and out to sea. Villa Clara is more than a comfortable holiday villa with all the expected amenities, it is also a home away from home. We were torn between staying and enjoying the villa, the pool and surrounding garden or making excursions to the many enchanting hilltop top towns. We were spoilt for choice with the art exhibitions and art galleries. For the sporting enthusiasts, there was much to choose from with nearby rivers and mountains providing walking, climbing as well as water based activities. As we were holidaying with family which included toddler and baby we enjoyed just hearing about what we could consider for another visit. The 'team' that look after Villa Clara make it all too easy. Benoit and Corinne so caring and such great back up. Even the taxi driver that was recommended was fantastically helpful. And then there was Nice. Only half an hour away. So we enjoyed the contrast to our country idyll with a day out of busy provincial big city life with a memorable lunch of shellfish in the famous flower market in the old town. I would recommend a car if for no other reason than shopping for groceries. Although St Jeannet can provide excellent meats, vegetables, bakery and pharmacy the other shopping is best done in the lower village which is only minutes away but a steep climb home. But there is a very good bus service once you have figured out how to read the time tables. A final word for the restaurants, bars and general bonhomie in St Jeannet. All excellent, friendly and contributed to making our stay memorable. We hope very much to return to St Jeannet.

We love your house with all the warmness inside, we love the spectacular view, we love the pizza oven, we love Benoit and Corinne, we love St. Jeannet and it's friendly people, we love the Baou and we love to come back... Thank you, Kai, Katharina, Lilli and Julie

“Bon Vivant week in Provence”

My wife and I had a glorious week in your beautiful Villa. From the time we arrived to the time that we departed we were treated like royalty . The home was warm, comfortable and well located for purposes of taking advantage of the St. Jeannette village. We never felt we were lacking any amenities in the villa. My wife and I fell in love with Provence, in no small part because of our fabulalous stay in your comfortable Villa.

“Villa Clara -- Pictures can't capture the magic”

My family and I (husband, kids ages 19, 16 and 11) had the good fortune to stay at Villa Clara this June. Wow. From the breathtaking view (kitchen to outdoor dining to Mediterranian), to the picture perfect pool, this is one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. The house is perfect, the property is in town, which we like. An easy walk to the town center where you can buy fresh bread, pastries, pizza, fruits and vegetables and meat from the butcher. Also, there are three great restaurants for dinner -- so hard to decide because the kitchen at the Villa is amazing and there is also an outdoor pizza oven. The location of the house is also great if you want to take day trips to the Cote d'Azur or Italy. The only downside is that the pool, surrounded by mountains, is hard to leave! This is a truly amazing place. Also, the house manager, Benoit is a treat. He and his wife Corrinne own a bed and breakfast in town. We took a cooking class one morning from them and it was a highlight. Pictures do not do this property justice -- it is too beautiful to property capture.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Clara. The house was spacious with plenty of bedrooms. The kitchen was well equipped with cooking supplies, etc. the deck with a table was perfect right off of the kitchen. Washer and dryer excellent and our family used it frequently. The only drawback was the unexpected amount of mosquitoes. Wear lots of mosquito repellent and spray backyard area for mosquitoes.

“Amazing home away from home...”

From our initial greeting by the charming caretaker walking us through the home, to cooking bubbling pizzas in the outdoor oven and taking wonderful midnight swims, we feel so lucky to have discovered Villa Clara. If you like to cook you'll appreciate the well appointed kitchen, if you like eat at restaurants there are three good ones a five minute walk away, if you like to hike there is a great hike right in your own back yard - the "rock" of St.Jeannet, if you like to see the sites Matisse's Chapel and St. Paul de Vence are a quick drive away, not to mention all the wonderful beaches of the French Riviera, which can be done in a day trip and if you like to go wine tasting there is a local winery. Great vacation, we will be back to Villa Clara.

“Absolutely a home away from home!”

Benoit was waiting to greet us, after an amusing sidetrack thanks to the sat nav, we actually ended up in the driveway of the gardener, very comical! Villa Clara is exactly as it looks on the internet, no suprises or disappointments. We loved it, after being out and about we would return and spend the rest of the day around the pool relaxing before cooking pizza in the oven and definitely follow anna's recipes, they are great! St Jeannet is a gorgeous village without the crush, the Villa with it's veiw and homely atmosphere, I could get lost there for months! We loved eveything about our stay and there was not one thing that was a downside. If your wondering, yes or no, stay you won't be disappionted, and be sure to go on one of Benoit's tours, although comfortable on our own we had a ball with him, he is full of knowledge and a lot of fun!

“Wonderful villa experience”

We rented Villa Clara first week of april and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We have rented villas 15 times now all over Europe and the us and this home was in the very top tier of our experiences in terms of its hillside location, cleanliness, landscaping, furnishings, the friendliness of the owners and their super friendly local representative, the villa's views, the local village and finally its proximity to so many fascinating places which are documented in a touring manual that is provided by the owners which has been prepared to a level of detail I have never seen before at a villa! We have recommended this villa to several friends already and we hope to return ourselves again next year.

“Fabulous vacation villa experience”

My husband, our two children, my parents and I spent a wonderful two weeks in Villa Clara in July. The house had everything we could have wished for ~ all the amenities, a private pool, great views, steps away from a charming hilltop village, close to the coast and wonderful caretakers who provided fresh vegetables, homemade jams and local wine upon our arrival. Everybody had a fantastic time and we hope to come again soon!
