With reverse cycle heating/aircon, this 5* contemporary accommodation, set in 100 acres of spectacular, picturesque countryside, is a rural paradise.
WILD DUCK RETREAT is available for bookings from 2 nights and upwards, so rates are negotiable for longer bookings.
THE RETREAT has 2 x double bedrooms (with Eco linen and designer furnishings), a wonderful marble-tiled bathroom with under floor heating, a separate loo with sink, and a fantastic sitting room/dining room with limed-oak floors, and floor to ceiling windows with views out over the stunning Central Victorian countryside.
There are 3 large sofas in the sitting room, one folds out to make a comfy double bed - the accommodation therefore sleeps 6 with ease and is very much child friendly.
THE RETREAT is a wonderful weekend "get-away", or a fabulous base from which to take a longer holiday and explore the Goldfields of Castlemaine and Maldon, the Farmer's markets of Lancefield, Heathcote and Kyneton, the local vineyards, cafes and providores of Heathcote and the galleries of nearby Bendigo.
THE RETREAT is furnished to the highest of standards. There is a stunning artisan-made rock dining-table carved from the land the house sits upon, in the BBQ area, seating for up to 6 in this fabulous rustic setting - be charmed and leave relax and refreshed.
Guests will have access to over 100 acres of stunning countryside to walk, roam, photograph, picnic, read books in, or just chill out in.
The laundry and kitchen are in the Main House but we offer a cleaning service so will clear your dirty dishes and wash them after each meal time.
THE RETREAT is only 1:30 from Melbourne CBD or Melbourne Airport, 40 minutes from Bendigo and Kyneton, and 15 minutes from Heathcote.
There is parking outside THE RETREAT for 2 cars.
We can arrange a hire car for you from Melbourne Airport, or book you a local taxi to bring you out to THE RETREAT.
Come and share our bit of paradise in the countryside and be re-invigorated. Share your breakfast with kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, cockatoos, rosellas, eagles and if you're very lucky you may see our terribly shy koala and wombat!
Pets and children are welcome.
Smoking is fine, but outside THE RETREAT, not inside please.
