Exclusive Private Island! Figure Eight Island is one of North Carolina's best kept secrets. This private island located on the Atlantic Ocean remains untouched by modern commercialization. A Gate House and a swing drawbridge limited access to assure a private and peaceful vacation. Visitors have access to the beach, boat ramps, bikes, and tennis courts. This is a great place for golf, fishing, kayaking, and other outdoor activities. Historic Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach are located just up the street where the arts flourish and the night life has some pizzazz. There are local museums showcasing the history of the coast. Restaurants offer cuisine known and appreciated world wide. Experience the beauty, tranquility and laid back atmosphere which will create memories of your vacation paradise.
Figure 8 Island is a beautiful coastal community, but visitors from Washington DC, Philadelphia, and New York are excited to find out that it can be reached in the same amount of travel time as the popular Outer Banks region and Figure 8 doesn't have the inseason crowds. The climate is considerably warmer in the spring, fall, and winter, providing a better environment for year-round golf, tennis, and other popular outdoor activities with fewer crowds!
The Tree House is located on a high sound front bluff just across from the beach path to the ocean. This home has 360 degree views of the white sandy beaches, ocean, sound and beyond. There is a boat dock on the sound which is great for kayaking, canoeing, crabbing, and fishing. The home is surrounded by the natural vegetation of the island which makes it fabulous for bird watching. The beaches are great for surfing and surf fishing; visitors will appreciate the shear bliss of quiet crowdless beaches. The beach house is cozy yet roomy with many updates. One of the best views on the Island, the home is very comfortable and casual. Nestled among live oaks and natural vegetation this home promotes exceptional birdwatching year round, yet still a delightful beach vacation. After a relaxing day on the beach you will enjoy perfect sunsets at the end of the day. All water toys are available for rent.

“great time,great place”

Response from the owner I try to treat each vacationing guest as though they were my family. The Tree House, also known as "Tree Top", is a special home on the island. When originally built it did not have the elevator!! The elevator helps a great deal. I installed a new elevator this year, Sept. 2017. Please come visit NC BEST KEPT SECRET!!

This is a spectacular home with 360 views of ocean and bay. It was comfortable with regard to bedding/beds. We really could not use the deck because of the number of spider webs with large spiders..… More

Response from the owner I gave them an earlycheck-in on Wed.( 9/02/15) I never received any complaint about spiders/Palmetto bugs or the A/C. If I did I would sent the Pest Control & A/C. Home is under a yearly contract,they would have taken care of it by Thurs. morning. The home has extentive up dated since 70s. 2 new Air Conditioning units installed June 2015,Dish washer new in 1/2015, ceiling fan now replaced, Kitchen was remolded 1998, SubZero Refrg/frezzor; 6 gas burner cook top.Elevator 1998, front door closes

Response from the owner Thanks so much. I hate to live when i'm staying there. I just installed a new elevator Sept. 2017. Home is under a yearly pest control policy & i am on call 24/7. The Tree House has the BEST views on the island. Most of the families return every year. You have the best of both worlds; boat dock on the back side & 100' to the beach. THX
