Description

Apartment Querce, 116 square metres + a 65-square-metre terrace for a comfortable holiday, is sunny, spacious and well equipped to a high standard. There is Fibra 1000 WiFi, air conditioning and hot tub. The terrace, where you can relax and enjoy your meals, surrounds the apartment. There is elevator and free parking. It is only a few minutes walk from the historic center of Lanciano, 10 minutes drive from the sea (Costa dei Trabocchi and Via Verde) and 30 minutes drive from ski resorts and the Majella National Park. The "Costa dei Trabocchi" includes many small bays and coves where you can enjoy a swim in safe, clean waters. The Via Verde, a 42 km long cycle and pedestrian path on the Costa dei Trabocchi, runs along one of the most evocative stretches of the Adriatic a few meters from the sea immersed in the nature of the Costa dei Trabocchi.

There are many more other places of interest around including picturesque hilltop villages, Lago di Bomba and little touristic coastal villages…

Lots of sports can be practised in the area (cycling, canoeing, rafting, trekking, horse riding, birdwatching, snorkeling, tennis, golf....).

This apartment is for non smokers (smokers can only smoke on the terrace) and it not suitable for pets. It is suitable for families with young children or teenagers, people 55+, young couples, adventure seekers. Special prices for couples and long stay lettings at certain conditions to be agreed upon with the owners. Check-in from 3 to 9 p.m., Check-out by 10.30 a.m. but these times are flexible, if possible. For the final cleaning there is an extra of € 60 .

Getting around

A car is not needed to visit Lanciano but a car is recommended to visit the region, even if there are coaches and local trains, as there are so many places of interest around including Lago di Casoli and Lago di Bomba, the hilltop village of Guardiagrele, Grotte del Cavallone, Roccascalegna, Bocca di Valle, Pennadomo, Pizzoferrato, Gessopalena, Fara San Martino (famous for the pasta makers De Cecco and Del Verde), and little touristic coastal villages and towns such as S. Giovanni in Venere, San Vito, Fossacesia ...

The owners live very near the apartment so advice and help are available, if needed. As the owner is a qualified teacher of Italian and her husband is an architect and an excellent cook, Italian lessons, art lessons and cookery lessons can be arranged in the period October-May.

“Lovely appartment in friendly Abruzzo”

Our trip to Italy in March / April 2014 had been a dream in the making for years. We decided, somewhat at random, to make Lanciano in beautiful Abruzzo our home for a full five weeks; to abandon the usual tourist routine of trudging from city to city, in a hurry to see "everything" and to settle down in one spot and try to really experience life in Italy. We were incredibly fortunate in our choice of Apartment Querce, and our host Francesca. The apartment is beautiful, large and spacious, with easily enough room for a family, though my wife and I were the only sole guests on this occasion. Though Francesca was away from Lanciano during our stay, we were put in the very capable hands of the housekeeper, Carmela, who rescued us on our first day, when we were hopelessly lost, patiently listened and helped us with our fractured Italian, provided us with groceries when needed and was a real friend to us during our visit. We will always remember and appreciate her kindness. The apartment itself is very well appointed, with everything needed for an extended stay. The location of the appartment is wonderful, a short 10 or 15 minute walk to the Centro Storico and Piazza Plebiscito, close to shopping for food or other needs and only a 20 minute drive to the Adriatic Coast, and some of the bluest water one could ever see. We loved our time in Lanciano and are already planning a return trip. Being close to retirement age, we will be visiting again, we hope many times.
