Response from the owner Firstly Id like to point out we cannot please all of the people all of the time . I offered yourselves a free week at the house as you rightly point out . But you used a whole lorry load of wood in less than two weeks ! In fact upon entering the lounge on one day the wood was stacked so high on the fire some fell out and everyone just stood watching in burn on the floor ! You firstly offered to buy some more for the next guests then reneged on your promise .. I have spent a whole week going round the house and addressing the areas which you have pointed out . I dont think its really in the spirit of tripadvisor to call me after your stay and offer not to review in this way if I pay you some kind of financial offer which you did . I hope my past and future reviews will go some way to disproving your comments about the house . Im pretty sure most people will realise that my house could not have fallen into such a state of disrepair in a few months . Im also sorry that the weather wasnt better for yourselves and then I would have received a fairer review and a coveted 3 stars !. Good luck with your future exacting requirements

We still had time due to a few days before our next changeover so it wasnt a problem.
