Description
Welcome to Mount Tabor, a self catering holiday cottage at Stiffkey, Wells next the Sea.
Formerly a Coastguards cottage, it was constructed c 1820.
This charming little hideaway is on the main road of the North Norfolk hamlet of Stiffkey, in a quiet coastal area, noted for bird reserves and local seafood.
With its original exterior flint walls it offers a quaint and good value holiday base for couples exploring this attractive area, with coastal walks nearby, heritage sites and livelier resorts like Hunstanton and Wells next the Sea a short drive away.
The cottage is ideally situated for visits to Walsingham.
A visit not to be missed is to Sandringham House, the Queen's Norfolk home.
The area is ideal for bird watching and has excellent beaches. There is access to 4 other cottages

“Small, clean and comfortable.”
Mount Tabor was beautifully clean and well presented. The local bus service was a boon and made visiting resorts in the area easy. Good food at the local pub and a handy village shop which covered most needs. The weather was on our side so helped to make the week a very enjoyable one. But.... there's always a but! Parking at the cottage was a challenge; getting in reasonably easy but getting out was more difficult as road visibility is not clear. Fortunately, as we did use the bus a lot we avoided too many problems. The road through Stiffkey is very narrow and winding.

“Cottage was lovely”
Cottage was great small but fine for 2 people and dog. Well situated for visiting both country and seaside places. You can use the bus to get to cromer and Wells by the sea and other places for walking and bird watching. Bus stop only 150 metres from cottage. The red lion pub is next door but one. Nice people but very expensive. Sunday dinner was £17.50 which was not worth that amount of money.Great place and great holiday.

“Excellent all Round”
Stiffkey is an ideal spot for holidaying, giving easy access to most places of interest in Norfolk. Mount Tabor is equally ideal as a holiday cottage for two. Cosy, clean and well furnished, it has all the facilities required, including off-road parking and a walk in shower, rather than a bath. The owners, Pat and Roger are friendly and helpful. What more could one want for a restful break - even the weather was brilliant!

A lovely little cottage with all you could need, including a parking space. We were not impressed with the local pub but that could just be our taste.

Response from the owner Hello Jane, The shower hose has been replaced and the instructions are (were) in the drawer under the sink. Guests move things around. There is an electric coin meter so that you only pay for what you use. Hope to see you again. Regards Pat and Roger.
