Description

This lovely 3 bedroom conversion was completed in 2014 and has been built to a very high standard retaining many of the original features including exposed beams and stonework. An excellent feature is the indoor pool (7m x 3.5), heated year round to 28°: you can swim in all weathers. There is plenty of room around it to sit back on the sunloungers or at the table and relax. A vast sliding door opens from the pool onto a private terrace, particularly attractive when lit at night. The separate lounge has a woodburner and the kitchen is modern with a dining area. There is a very large bedroom downstairs and the two upstairs bedrooms each have their own en-suite shower rooms. In the village, there is a very popular little restaurant, small shops within 2kms and several local markets. The main shops are in Fontenay Le Comte (10km). Maillezais (4km) is famous for its Abbey and you are in the middle of the Marais, great for relaxing in canal boats, hired locally, and also excellent for cycling and stopping en route at one of the many cafés lining the canals. Other musts are visits to La Rochelle, the lovely historic city (within an hour), the Vendée coast, famous for its beaches, as well as Les Sables d'Olonne, its main seaside resort.
