Description

Galle area/ Koggala Lake. Villa Karamoja nestles in a green haven of peace and tranquillity, perched on a bluff with one hundred and eighty-degree views over Koggala Lake. The house is set in a secluded one-acre garden with abundant wildlife. The colonial-style house designed with many reclaimed architectural features.

Relax by the infinity pool and watch the local fishermen and abundant wildlife on the lake, from fish eagles to kingfishers, monitor lizards, monkeys, bats and fireflies. The lake is a bird watchers paradise.

Or explore the nearby World Heritage Site Galle Fort, temples, and tea plantations, swim, or surf, the beautiful white-sand beaches. Take a bike ride or a boat trip on the lake or whale watching. Return for a sundowner in the ambalamba or on the jetty and watch the sunset over the lake.

If you don't have a car, you can use tuk-tuks to explore local tourist sites, beaches and restaurants or take a train to Galle or Matara. Airport transfers can be arranged.

The property is staffed with an English speaking house manager who also cooks and a gardener. There is a staff bungalow on-site, so there is always someone on site. The Villa offers 3 double bedrooms including one twin room, all en suite and air-conditioned with antique four-poster beds, a fully equipped kitchen and a sitting room with plenty of al fresco dining options on the wraparound veranda or in the terraced gardens stocked with mango trees, frangipani, hibiscus and cinnamon.

The rates include breakfast. Full catering services available on request. Free WiFi, Bluetooth speaker, emergency generator, cot and two bicycles available. Spa facilities, Yoga trainers and transport facilities can be arranged on request at an extra cost. Individual rooms also can be rented based on availability.
