Description

Our newly renovated Studio Bellavista is located in the charming old town center of Pizzo. Just 50 m down the street is the lively Piazza della Repubblica with a good choice of restaurants, bars gelateria and shops. The city beach below the castello is a 10 min walk downhill. The apartment has a one separate bedroom with a small balcony overlooking the sea and the beach of Pizzo Marina. It is ideal for morning coffees and aperitivos while watching the stunning sunsets. The living and dining area has two windows facing sea view and a sofa bed (which could sleep one extra person). When entering the apartment is is 5 steps down into the new and well equipped kitchen and its Mediterranean floor tiles. The floor space is app. 60 sqm (645 sq ft).

The interior is a mix of Mediterranean, modern and antique style, with beautiful Vietri floor tiles and wooden parquet, decorated with local art works and accessories.

The entrance is located on the church square and leads 5 steps down into the new and well equipped kitchen. The Studio is partly 'sou-terrain' and opens up with its facade facing the sea, the castello and part of the main piazza.

We call this apartment "Studio" although it has a private bedroom and separate living area. In the bedroom we preserved the original wooden ceiling and on the small balcony you can enjoy your morning coffee and afternoon aperitif while watching the sunset.

On clear days you can spot the active volcano Stromboli, which is part of the Eolie island group of Sicily in the Tyrrhenian Sea.

You can reach the studio by car in about 30 min from Lamezia international airport (SUF) or taxi. We can pre-book a taxi to pick you up if you wish (40 Euro one way at own cost). You do not need a car in Pizzo as everything you might need during your stay is within walking distance: bars, restaurants, fresh market and shops. From April to October there are "Ape"-taxis connecting the different areas of Pizzo - which are Marinella, Piedigrotta, Centro Storico, and Pizzo Marina. If you don't like to walk uphill from the beach back home, we recommend the Ape-taxi or to rent a car.

The City of Pizzo Calabro has extended the tourist city tax to the vacation home rental. The due tax of 2,00 euro per person per night (to be paid in cash upon arrival) is applied from June 1st to September 30th for a maximum of 7 nights stay. Children up to 16 years old are excluded.

Details of your passport will be collected upon arrival.

Parking situation in Pizzo's centro storico is difficult. You will love the garage that comes for free with the apartment. Just indicate us if you will rent a car and make use of the garage.

Getting around

See above information about how to get there. Getting around and discovering Calabria is best to do by car. However you can take the train to Tropea, Scilla or Reggio Calabria for day trips. That will give you a good first impression. You can even walk 1.5 km to the nearest train station "Stazione di Pizzo".

Interaction with guest

We will meet you at check-in to hand over the key and make sure you get to know the apartment as well the location. If you like we will show you the piazza which is just 50m away with its restaurants, bars and shops. We will show you where you find the best cheese and wine, where to dine, where to have a cappuccino or an aperitivo. And we will recommend you our favorite ice cream gelaterias. We have compiled a guidebook for our guest about Pizzo and possible day trips to explore Calabria. We can send it via mail before your trip. During your stay you can contact us any time. One of our team is always in Pizzo and can assist you if needed.
