Crafters' Lodge Sodwana Bay is securely set in the natural bush on the border of World Heritage Site Isimangaliso Wetland Park beside a magnificent mangrove forest and behind the world's highest forested dune. With 5 game reserves less than 80 km away and world class diving on spectacular pristine reefs within the Marine Nature Reserve this is a rare and special place. Home of the coelecanth, Sodwana Bay offers swimming, surfing, snorkelling, whale watching, whale sharks in season, swimming with wild dolphins and scuba diving. Fisherman come for the surf fishing and the world renowned big game fishing safaris. Marlin, sailfish cuta and big barracuda are all caught here. Safe for children, the beach and lagoon are filled with fingerlings and there are plenty of rock pools to explore. Crafters Lodge Sodwana Bay offers barefoot living in relaxed surroundings in serviced air-conditioned cottages. You can dine out in quaint restaurants, a pizzaria, hot dog shack and local and ethnic bars, or come home and barbecue on your own deck. Free of the trammels of modern living, this is a magic place.
