Description

This coquettish cottage with private pool is set in Inca, in the centre of Mallorca and welcomes 5 guests.

This house features a private, 9mx 3m chlorine pool with a depth between 1.1m and 2.1m and an exterior shower. Afternoons can be spent basking in the sun on one of the six sun loungers. There’s a furnished porch and a barbecue, perfect for family-dinners. This lovely cottage is private and there are direct neighbors.

The air-conditioned rustic-style kitchen with dining table is fully-equipped and offers a gas hob, a washing machine, an iron and an ironing board. The kitchen as well as one shower bath are located in the annex and can be accessible from the exterior. The main house welcomes you with a cozy sitting room, where you can relax while reading a good book by the fireplace or watching a film on the satellite-TV. Two bedrooms with double bed have no wardrobe but a drawer. The third bedroom with two single beds features a wardrobe. There’s a bath with bath tub.

This wonderful home is near the city of Inca, where you'll find everything you may need for an independent stay, like shops and restaurants. In a Celler you can try home-made, typical Majorcan food. In the outskirts of Inca there's the Puig de Santa Magdalena, a rolling hill where you'll find a small chapel and a good restaurant. Furthermore, you can visit the monastery of Lluc, the shoe-museum of Inca and the caves of Campanet. If the beach is what you are searching for, you can go by car to the north coast and explore wonderful beaches as Can Picafort, Playa de Muro, Son Serra de Maria and Puerto de Alcúdia. Alcúdia's Bay is just perfect for families with toddlers. The old town of Alcúdia is a picturesque place, surrounded by an old wall.

“Avoid, especially if you have young children. Electrically dangerous.”

Please read to the end. Arrived at the Villa and we were impressed with how private it was, it's not overlooked and is very rural. The Villa itself was extremely clean and presented very well with some small gifts left for us as we entered the Villa. However we did have some issues with the Villa during our stay, some of which can't be helped but perspective visitors need to be aware. First of which is the insects that plague you of an evening, now we have stayed in rural Villas before, in fact they are the only Villas we choose. Never before have we been attacked so much by mosquitos and wasps, it was so bad that after the second day we couldn't sit out of an evening, which for us is a major part of the holiday. There is also an issue with wasps swarming round the steps to the pool which would be an massive issue if you have young children wanting to use the pool. The Villa is surrounded by trees and shrubs at the back so perhaps this is the reason for all the insects, it's the only reason I can see why this property is hit so much by insects. Other issues can be sorted quite quickly and cheaply if only the owner could make the effort. The sun loungers are cheap and brown in colour and of covered in a thin cotton covered sponge. They need replacing with proper commercial white loungers, which have been in every other Villa we have stayed. The cotton covers are dirty, the loungers themselves get extremely hot because they are dark in colour and have a tendency to fail in the 45 degree recline position sometimes, so you can't quite relax on them. The parasol is cheap and doesn't fit in the base that it is stuck in so leans over and rotates in the wind so is no use at all. The biggest and most worrying issue during the holiday was the substandard electrics at the property. The first day my wife got a massive electric shock from the cooker and then from the dish washer. I realised that none of the electrical equipment in the kitchen is earthed, so if you are in bare feet and touch it you will get a belt of electricity. As the kitchen is by the pool it's normal to walk into the kitchen in bare feet. I phoned the management company and they said they would send a Electrician around, they came round the very next day. After pulling the cooker out and playing around with it for 30 mins he stated to us that is was fixed. I told him to touch the cooker with bare feet, he promptly got a shock from the cooker. We spoke to the management company again and they said that they would send someone out again. We never saw anyone else come out and just had cold food for the duration of our time there. On a serious point, I dread to think what would happen if a child touched the cooker and got a shock, he certainly would be hospitalised. Again when I hi- lighted this worry to the management company they stated that a child shouldn't be near the cooker anyway, but for us that's not the point, the cooker doesn't have to be turned on to get the shock! All it would take is for a child to lean on anything electrical in the kitchen and the result could be catastrophic.
