Description

Rafiki's Resthouse offers in just one place all the features that people in the area look for: privacy; spacious villa; 2 min walk to Crocodile River for great views of elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and so much more; many animals visiting you at your doorstep; entrance to Kruger as near as can be from Marloth Park ; restaurants, shops, leisure possibilities and other facilities close by ; complete relaxation and comfort in a large private garden with beautiful majestic trees and swimming pool.

Last but not least, solar panels with back up battery and a borehole are important assets in a park where lack of electricity and periods of no water at all are getting quite common.

Marloth Park is a nature conservancy Park which borders Kruger National Park in South Africa, only separated from the famous game reserve by Crocodile River and a fence.

Transport from airport and daily food delivery (for longer term stay) upon request.

Free Wifi.

The house is self catering , but we know of no other houses that have a cook if the guests wish to have their meal prepared.

In some cases, you book and pay through a third site and they pay us later (that adds to the accommodation fee, of course), on others you book through them but pay directly to us (your case) and other guests just reserve and pay directly to us. Response from the owner This review is written by the guest who hosted the author of the negative review below. A host remains responsible for his visitors' conduct, and disrespectful behaviour of visitors or damage caused, affects all involved. A few points should be clarified here - there indeed was water shortage in Marloth Park, but not at Rafiki's since there is a borehole - the house is a bush house as the pictures show and not one of the new straight grey concrete buildings now popping up in Marloth Park. Whether bush style is 'dated' depends maybe on one's taste and one would expect guests to book according to their personal preference - of course, it would have been good to know what ' the needed maintenance' would have been. Only a broken bulb was reported and it was replaced within minutes. - the owners do not live there, but sometimes they stay in the cottage nearby. It may also be added here that is not appreciated if a guest links the writing of a review to deposit reimbursement.

Response from the owner This person did not book with us but was the guest of somebody else and seems to have a rather negative attitude. Some examples: - UPS does come back after load shedding but one has to wait a few minutes for automatic rebooting - Pool: guests enjoy the private pool and the next guests praised it and used it daily - Broken pots: there was one at the end of the garden, just broken by warthogs. Our garden is not fenced and animals can be boisterous - Betty has overwhelmingly positive comments from visitors. She deserves to be treated respectfully and can only do one thing at a time. Other comments (bricks, bathroom) just leave one puzzled, not to mention some disrespect for the house rules.
