Beachfront Home on Beautiful Long Beach on Cape Ann
This light-filled, three-level beachfront home sits on the seawall above sandy Long Beach. We're at the Rockport end with no second-row cottages behind. Views of the ocean, beach and marsh greet you through large windows in every room.
The top floor has three bedrooms with sleeping for six (two king beds, two twins) and an over-sized full bath with granite-topped vanity and Bosch laundry. All bedrooms (and even the bathroom) have ocean views. A balcony overlooks the open first floor and, through walls of glass, commands a view of the entire beach.
The main floor, at seawall level, has an expansive living room with ample seating facing the beach. At the center of the house, the kitchen has soapstone counter-tops, down-draft stove, microwave, compactor, disposal, a super-quiet Bosch dishwasher, lots of gadgets and utensils, and views of both the beach and marsh. On back side of the house, with unobstructed views of the creek and marsh, are a sitting room and fully glassed-in conservatory dining area with seating for 8. A 3/4 euro-style bath off the sitting room completes the main floor. The sitting room converts to a sleeping alcove with twin sofa-bed and there is an additional twin sofa-bed in the main living area.
The walk-out lower level suite provides space for play or hanging out, and lots of additional sleeping areas, including a pull-out futon couch (full), and a loft with two full size aero-beds. Built-in cabinets, a refrigerator, microwave, third full bath, and its own entrance make this a great, private space.
The attached garage provides secure storage for bikes, kayaks, etc. and houses the on-demand water heater (never run out of hot water!), the central heat boiler (for the rare cool night) the central vacuum that services all three floors, and the irrigation system that keeps all the flowers looking great.
The exterior is ringed with large decks, patios and gardens, and equipped with a warm-water outdoor shower and a propane gas grill.
There is dedicated parking for up to four cars (a rarity on Long Beach) and, with no cottage behind, easy access to the creek where you can launch your kayak or boat.
