Description
Nestling on a raised sunny plateau is our newly renovated stone farmhouse with stunning views onto the rolling Marche countryside and onto Monte Vettore, the highest peak in the Sibillini mountain range.
Casa di Pietra (The Stonehouse) is close to the beautiful village of Montefortino on the edge of the Sibillini National Park. The traditional Marchigiani farmhouse is situated in an idyllic, secluded position surrounded by nature, perfectly placed for easy access to a fantastic range of mountain walking and there is some excellent walking directly from the house. The stone farmhouse has been sensitively renovated, carefully preserving its original character features.
La Dimora is a charming two bedroom apartment on the first floor (60m2) offering a fully fitted kitchen and all modern amenities; each bedroom has its own ensuite with shower. The garden has a sunny patio, a shady courtyard and also various secluded areas to relax in; there is also a BBQ and a pizza oven. Guests are welcome to help themselves to any herbs, veggies from our ‘orto’ and fruits. Don’t fancy cooking? There are several excellent agriturismi very close to the house.
This is also a tranquil base from which you can explore many of the delights this wonderful area of Le Marche has to offer. Visit some of the numerous festas and sagras; sample the first class, accredited Marche wines at one of the vineyards; take a trip to one of the hilltop medieval villages and soak up some of their culture, architecture and art; enjoy a long, lazy, sumptuous lunch at one of the many excellent restaurants or you may fancy some Italian beach culture? The delightful award winning beaches of the Adriatic are about 30km away.
Maybe take a picnic basket onto our hill (with some of the excellent local vino!) and feast your eyes on the ever fascinating and changing view of the Sibillini mountains, resplendent by sunset; or just sit in the meadow to watch the butterflies, listen to the birdlife and possibly be serenaded by the Golden Oriole.
