Description
The apartment on the Bodrum peninsular is situated on the Flamingo Country Club resort between the Aegean Sea on one side and Lake Tuzla on the other. The lake is often frequented by the delightful birds which lend their name to the resort and when they are in residence the water appears to turn pink.
Melissa 23 is an excellent sized ground floor apartment offering spacious, fully air-conditioned accommodation spread across an integrated living and dining area, 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a well equipped kitchen. A sofa bed in the living area opens out to provide additional sleeping space if required.
The Flamingo resort has its own restaurant and clubhouse and there is a large pool for everyone to enjoy. Each block of apartments also has it's own pool. A short walk away is the stunning Infinity pool with fantastic views over the Aegean.
A supermarket, recently opened close to the entrance to Flamingo, stocks all your self catering needs but there are also some excellent restaurants within easy walking distance and also in nearby villages. To experience the Turkish way of life, visit one of the many local markets or take one of the famous dolmuses on a trip around the peninsula. Excursions further afield can also be booked locally.
This apartment can be rented individually or together with the upper apartment, Melissa 24, which I also own. I can also arrange airport transfers to and from the apartment.

“Fantastic holiday and a beautiful location”
My boyfriend and I stayed in Melissa 23 apartment for just under a fortnight in June 2012. We had a fabulous time. It was our first time on holiday without parents / "proper" adults, so we were a little nervous. The owner of the apartment was really helpful from the off. As he only lives about 30 miles from us, he met us a few days before we were flying to let us have the keys to the apartment and answered all our last minute questions. He also booked the taxi for the airport transfer for us. The apartment is lovely, very clean and spacious – I think the owner also owns the upstairs apartment, which would be perfect if two families wanted to go on holiday together. There are 3 complexes in close proximity, and a large number of pools to choose from. As it was outside the school holidays, the complex was quiet and we actually had a pool to ourselves one day. The apartment has a great view over the lake and I actually cooked on a couple of occasions and we ate outside in the garden, which was very pleasant. Each complex has its own restaurant and we tried them all. The Turquoise Restaurant was my favourite and we ate there several nights. It is about a 10-15 minute walk from the apartment or there is a bus that runs between the three sites, which takes you there. They have a lot of events in the evenings, so definitely well worth a try. It has a good atmosphere and really nice food at reasonable prices. Would highly recommend it. After eating out, our favourite place to spend the evenings was the Ocean View Bar & Café – food (snacks) and drink was fairly cheap – wine 15/20 lira per bottle, Raki (Pernod) and mixer 6 lira, Magners 10 lira. The place has a lovely atmosphere. It also has a mini shop which is really useful for essentials. Mehmet, one of the staff, is so helpful and a genuinely lovely person, willing to do anything for anyone. The Royal Heights restaurant was a bit more expensive than the other restaurants but had beautiful views. Again, the bus can take you but it is only a short walk. Out of the two, I'd definitely recommend the Turquoise Restaurant. There is a spa at Royal Heights. My boyfriend booked a Turkish bath and massage for us as my birthday present. It was 50 lira (about £18) per person. However, beware as they do try to suggest you need further help, i.e. back problems, just to get more money. Would definitely recommend the spa to relax and enjoy. There is also an infinity pool at Royal Heights – fantastic to look out onto the sea and beach below. There is a big new supermarket across the road from Flamingo Country Club which sold all types of food and essentials. Prices varied but on average was good value for money. Very handy and you can get the ice-creams back before they melt! The Sunset Café, just past the supermarket, also served fabulous food – it is also surrounded by other little shops such as fruit and souvenir shops. Perhaps the most enjoyable experience of all was a place called My Beach. You need to book but it's a little private beach with mini huts on. You can spend the whole day there (there is also a restaurant, which serves great breakfasts). It's very, very popular and definitely worth booking – and it's free! The beach only has a little sand but has easy access to the sea. The restaurant is not too expensive and the staff are very pleasant. You have to access it by taxi but there is a free one that takes you there. Just ask Mehmet at Ocean View Café and he'll arrange it for you. (Send him my love!). We also took the local bus one day into Bodrum; the service is very regular and it was nice to mix with the local villagers on the bus. Bodrum is a very lively place with lots of good restaurants and shopping – well worth spending the day there. Overall, a fantastic place to stay, brilliant for couples and families and I'd definitely go again as it had everything I wanted.

“Relaxed week in the sun”
The appartments was well equiped and there is a number of swimming pools, a number of quiet ones or the main pool has slides which was good if you have children(we took our 6 year old). The complex has a bar and restaurant which we used at lunchtimes. In the evening we used the local restaurants which were really good. To find them we spoke to the waiter at the local bar just down the road. We had a good week and would visit again.

“good sized apartment, safe,secure on a lovely quiet site”
The apartment is a good size and well equipped. It was very comfortable with good sofa's. bed's etc The air conditioning was good and really needed. The apartment is situated near one of the many pools and as the site was very quiet we had the pool to ourselves most of the time. One of the best things about the apartment is the fantastic view that you have overlooking the lake and mountains. There is a restaurant and shop on the site but we tended to use the restaurant on the turquoise site next door (10 min walk) or one of the others on the main road. We also used the shop on the main road where the locals were very friendly and helpful. We went to Bodrum several times and ate there in one of the many restaurants, in between doing quite a lot of shopping! for bargains!!!!!!!!! Overall we had a really good holiday and would love to go back. The only thing I would say is that it is very hilly and lots of steps,if you have trouble walking I would say it might not be suitable. The owner was very helpful and arranged for us to be picked up from the airport.
