Description

A La Cotinière, old country house Charentais, completely renovated in 2015 in an enclosed 450 m² garden with a heated swimming pool 10m x 3.5m.

The house includes a living room (40 m²) including living room, dining room with an open kitchen and four bedrooms (21, 16, 21 and 12 m²) with four bathrooms with separate toilet and toilet.

All rooms have independent entrance in order to enable couples of friends find themselves independently.

All rooms open onto the terrace, garden and pool. The house has a floor heating.

The renovation was done to preserve and enhance the typical elements of Oléron architecture while bringing the comfort of a home to a prefectural 5 star ranking.

Once the Home of fisherman, forget your car and enjoy, thanks to the best sunshine on the Atlantic side, all activities on foot or by bike: the beach and the sea, walks, outings ...

You will find there food shops, excellent quality, for shopping a real pleasure: bakery, fish provided by live auction, butcher, wine shops, grocery and daily market with fruits and vegetables, cheese, creamer, oyster farmers , etc. After your shopping, your well-equipped kitchen will allow you to showcase local products (please try the céteaux and squid, local specialties).

In case of emergency, but does not want you, you will find there doctors and pharmacy.

By late afternoon, still on foot, you can go for a drink at the bar enjoying the Gaite light on the fishing port, before returning to the friendly atmosphere of the Oyster Bar Pigouille (yes oysters Oléron are good even in summer!) and finish the evening with a stroll along the harbor, good gelato from Tamarins in hand!

For a slightly more urban atmosphere, bike fifteen minutes by bike and you're in Saint-Pierre d'Oléron "capital of the island," with its small shops or clothing, of course, food (do not miss the pastries from the church square), bars and restaurants. If you want to taste the local food market, the right address is Le P'tit Bouchon, in the main pedestrian artery.

And if you leave Oléron light, you have access near the famous La Palmyre zoo, the site of the frigate Hermione or the aquarium of La Rochelle.

“Overpriced”

The property was well located, there was a lovely pool, and it was very high tech. A lot of thought had gone into this property, but it was poorly managed. We had a gardener let himself in without being informed of his visit. And an alarmingly greening pool despite the visit of a pool technician mid way through our stay.

“High tech hideaway”

Centrally located in a well serviced town. We have visited the island before in October and it was certainly much busier in July. An expensive rental so uk visitors may be surprised to find substantial further costs to be paid locally. Additional payment for bed linen, towels, dog and tourist tax willadd a further 5-10% to the rental cost advertised.
