Description

A recently renovated traditional Provencale stone-built 'Mas', Les Beaux Chenes, presents 3 beautiful, tranquil, rural gite apartments, just 4 kms from the listed Roman village, Pont de Barret, with a large swimming pool, 6m x 12m, set in 4 hectares of private oak and pine woodland. Overlooking magnificent countryside and nearby mountains. Access to a wood burning pizza oven and barbecue.

The property currently comprises 2 gites:

'Le Barronier' gite sleeps 2 to 6 and entrance is via a private external staircase and sun terrace.

A smaller but lovely spacious ground floor gite, 'Eyzahut', sleeping 2 to 4, is also available.

Just 4 kms from the listed historic Roman village, Pont de Barret. Set on the river Roubion, with its many opportunities for swimming, the village has an impressive Roman church and bridge. There are many amenities, with 3 good restaurants, a friendly bar which is open from early until late, a Boulangerie, a Post Office and a Cave selling local wines.

An excellent base for walking, cycling and excellent roads for driving and motorcycling. Wonderful for nature lovers, birdwatchers, food and wine lovers, artists, those who are active or simply want to relax.

A hidden jewel, with sunflowers, lavender and good food and wine, without the crowds.

A weekly market at Pont de Barret where you can sample local produce and experience French life. Weekly markets take place at other nearby towns and villages.

Well situated in the South of La Drome Provencale, Haute Provence. Nearest towns are the historic Montelimar, Crest and Dieulefit, all about 25 minutes away. Very well placed for staying at home, being active, relaxing or for sight seeing trips.

Lovely shower room, with shower 160cms and separate w.c.

Beautiful countryside views, yet just 4 kms from the lovely listed Roman village of Pont de Barret.

Travel cot available, on request.

We request no smoking in the rooms, please.

A well behaved pet may be accepted with prior agreement, a supplement applies of 5 euros per night per pet.

Cleaning fee of 30 euros. Returnable damage deposit of 300 euros.

The owners live in the adjoining property and are on hand to give advice or to leave you in peace to enjoy your stay. English and French spoken. We have a rescued dog, two cats, 8 chickens and 4 donkeys.

Response from the owner We were so pleased to welcome Nick, Emily and their beautiful girls, Harriet and Florence. A wonderful family, who seemed to enjoy their stay. Maurice, our dog, really fell in love with the girls, who were so kind and helpful with the animals, especially helping with donkey walks! We were really pleased to share our local knowledge and delighted that Nick and his family enjoyed being here as well as discovering the broader area. We look forward to the next visit!
