Description
Villa Asteri is one of the largest villas on the island, set in mature gardens with private swimming pool and beautiful views over Kolios beach. A two minute walk to Kolios beach and 10 minute drive from Skiathos Town.
A bright and spacious villa set over 2 floors with the bedrooms located on the ground floor. Most bedrooms have external doors opening out on to a shaded ground floor terrace or the lawned garden.
The main living area is situated on the first floor with spacious kitchen, dining and living areas, opening out on to a 1000 sq.ft. terrace with fantastic views of the beach, Kolios bay and the mountains beyond. Perfect for large adult groups or families with children.
If you are planning a wedding on Skiathos, this is the perfect base for the bridal party. Villa Asteri is only a 5 minute drive from the Skiathos Princess Hotel which is a very popular wedding venue.

“Amazing”
The apartment itself was lovely - spacious, clean and airy bedrooms with doubles and twins so this will suit most large groups. The upstairs is even better - very spacious kitchen/living/dining, but this was secondary to the outside portion of the first floor, where there is a shaded table to seat 10 for al fresco dining and an outside sofa area with stunning views over the local bay - we spent a lot of time up there! We also spent a lot of time at the pool, which was surprisingly large for a single apartment and came equipped with plenty of sun beds, deck chairs and yet another table and chairs. The local beach is a 5 minute walk away and isn't ideal for infants as it gets deep quickly but is great for snorkelling with lots of fish in the shallows. The beach at Koukanaris(bus stop 26, 15/20mins on the bus) is more suited to infants and has lovely white sand. The two local food outlets, Infinity Blue restaurant and Xanthe pool bar were also willing (and did!) to serve your meal in the apartment, so cooking is strictly optional. The taxi journey to the apartment was relatively short, about 20mins, and it is situated a few hundred yards off the main road, right next to bus stop number 15 that is very well serviced and gives good coverage of Skiathos at a very reasonable price (€4.80 for 2 adults and 2 kids single). There are also lots of bars, restaurants and shops within reasonable walking distance (all food is of good quality and reasonably priced). Lynette was extremely helpful with local knowledge, any queries we had and also booked taxis for us if required. Maids came to clean everyday and didn't get in your way if you were in whilst they were there. One note to remember which we forgot is that toilet roll and bin bags for the kitchen aren't included after they run out on arrival. If you have children then I would advise taking a baby monitor so you can hear them whilst you relax upstairs in the evening as you are unable to hear them as the downstairs is completely seperate(stairs outdoors). All doors have a key lock on the doors rather than keys which is handy in a large group and no chance of losing keys.

“Space for everyone”
Spent a week in the Villa Asteri in September 2016. Group of 10 adults, my wife and I, and our four children with partners/friends. Lovely place to stay. 5 generous size double rooms with comfortable beds. large upstairs living area extending onto the roof with a large open outdoor space with dining seating and BBQ, and an indoor kitchen diner, the two connected by folding glass doors that made it all one space. Well equipped with a daily cleaner and a very nice concierge living next door who was incredibly helpful. Lovely view over the beach which is less than 5 minutes walk (and quite a lot of steps). It has an OK taverna on the beach if you can't be bothered to walk home. Next door is a good restaurant where we ate twice. The small garden has a small swimming pool this is not fenced off and small children would need to be kept a close eye on. There is enough space for everyone to escape and be private if they want to be, but equally great for family games around a table. generously provisioned with sunbeds and chairs, and is is always possible to get out of the sun if you need some shade The local bus stop is about minutes walk and on the bus you can easily get into town or to the far end of the island. We hired a small car which I would recommend for shopping if nothing else, there is a small supermarket 5 minutes walk away but it is a bit one horse, and the endless need for bottled water in vast amounts makes a car a necessity rather than a luxury. The only slight downside is the other buildings quite close by. These are well screened and we did not find them at all intrusive but they might be noisier in high season. Plenty to do on the island if you don't just want sun sea and sand. We would all happily stay there again if we were planning a similar holiday in the future.
